Nifty Pics - Australia

I don’t know what it is about Australia, but since my teen years it’s been on my ‘top ten places I really, really, really want to visit before I die’ list. There’s just something about it. This week’s theme is all about this beautiful place down under.

  1. Yes, I know what you mean! I love the accent as well, and they seem pretty laid back and carefree.

    1. I know a few people that have visited and they loved it. I don't know if I'll ever get there, but I'd like to think so.

  4. I have always wanted to go to Australia too. My sister lived there for a while and she came back with the darkest tan in the world.
There is a great book by Bill Bryson called "In A Sunburned Country".
(There is a different name for it, depending on which country of the publication.) I really liked that book and felt it caputured the spirit of the "Land Down Under". Have you ever noticed the closeup of the Royal Opera House? It looks like seashells!

    1. Your sister lived there? Lucky girl. Yes, the Royal Opera House does look like seashells up close; it's a beautiful structure.

  8. I looked at these this morning, but somehow I neglected to leave a comment...! Great pics and I'm certain this would make an amazing vacation. I still have my fingers crossed for Hobbiton in New Zealand, but I'd take Australia in a pinch, lol!!

    1. Anyone I know who has been to Australia has loved it. New Zealand is another top destination for me. Visiting both places would be a dream. Throw in the Fiji Islands and it's paradise for me.

  9. Guess what? Now it IS on my list too! I would absolutely love to walk up and over that bridge in Sydney. A friend did it and will never forget the view from the top of the cables!
    Great post Martha.
