I don’t know what it is about Australia, but since my teen years it’s been on my ‘top ten places I really, really, really want to visit before I die’ list. There’s just something about it. This week’s theme is all about this beautiful place down under.

Nifty Pics - Australia
Yes, I know what you mean! I love the accent as well, and they seem pretty laid back and carefree.
ReplyDeleteI know a few people that have visited and they loved it. I don't know if I'll ever get there, but I'd like to think so.
DeleteI'd like to visit there someday too.
ReplyDeletePerhaps it'll happen one day! Let's hope so.
DeleteFor me it is New Zealand. Always been drawn there for some reason.
ReplyDeleteThat's another place I'd love to visit. Hopefully I can get to both.
DeleteI have always wanted to go to Australia too. My sister lived there for a while and she came back with the darkest tan in the world.
ReplyDeleteThere is a great book by Bill Bryson called "In A Sunburned Country".
(There is a different name for it, depending on which country of the publication.) I really liked that book and felt it caputured the spirit of the "Land Down Under". Have you ever noticed the closeup of the Royal Opera House? It looks like seashells!
Your sister lived there? Lucky girl. Yes, the Royal Opera House does look like seashells up close; it's a beautiful structure.
DeleteAnd hey, I do know how to spell "captured"!
ReplyDeleteHa ha...not to worry, Kay! It's easy to make typos without meaning to.
DeleteGreat photos, I've always had a yearning to visit Australia too. I think it's all of those awesome animals... ;) Those penguin photos are adorable!
ReplyDeleteThe animals are definitely one of the reasons! The whole place simply fascinates me.
DeleteI never never wanted to go because of the heat and the spiders and the snakes - but your pictures are so lovely maybe I'll change my mind!
ReplyDeleteWell, those are three pretty good reasons to want to stay away...LOL... Still. I would do it anyway.
DeleteI looked at these this morning, but somehow I neglected to leave a comment...! Great pics and I'm certain this would make an amazing vacation. I still have my fingers crossed for Hobbiton in New Zealand, but I'd take Australia in a pinch, lol!!
ReplyDeleteAnyone I know who has been to Australia has loved it. New Zealand is another top destination for me. Visiting both places would be a dream. Throw in the Fiji Islands and it's paradise for me.
DeleteGuess what? Now it IS on my list too! I would absolutely love to walk up and over that bridge in Sydney. A friend did it and will never forget the view from the top of the cables!
ReplyDeleteGreat post Martha.
No one can escape the charm of the land down under. Eventually we're all victims to it. What a great thing it would be to visit this place. Maybe one day, Jim.
