Nifty Pics – Abandoned Houses
Very wabi sabi.
Very much so.
You are correct Martha! It does make one think about how and why these once beautiful homes got into this shape. Our homes are so important to us......makes me think.
Some of these homes were gorgeous, and it's a shame that they've reached such a sad state.
oh, this touches me in a very personal level. Last month my grandfather's house, one which was about 100 years old was demolished... First the kids sold it after he passed. Then the people who bought it, fenced in the property and it sat there for years, decaying. Then, last month, my dad told me it had been demolished... Within those walls I had several wonderful memories of my childhood, moments with my grandfather and his stories of the past, one of the first times I fell in love. Of course, I have not lost my memories, but there is something really sad about knowing those walls no longer exist.
That is quite sad. Even though it's only a house, it's a house that held a lot of memories for you. I can certainly understand why it would stir such emotions in you.
