Chuckles and Chortles

Happy Monday, blogging friends. I hope the weekend was good to all of you. Our staycation is going very well. Yesterday’s weather was iffy, so we relaxed during the day and went to see Hercules in the evening. Have you seen this movie? It was pretty good. I especially love that it featured an Amazon (female warrior) archer. I want to be just like her when I grow up. Did I just say that? I meant if I grow up.

You don't want to mess with this woman. Her outfits are pretty cool, too.

Cycling continues to be a huge part of our summer. Saturday we covered 21 kilometers (13 miles) around our city, and saw some beautiful things along the way. I always carry a camera around my neck on these outings to capture these moments.

You don't have to go far to see water in Kingston. This is in the middle of a suburban area.

Is that enough babbling for now? I believe it is. Let’s get to the funny stuff...

Make it a great week!

    1. It's a new movie, so I'm guessing most people haven't seen it. I thought it was okay, but I have to say that it's not really worth paying a lot of money to see at the theater. At least in my opinion.

  11. Haha. These got even funnier as I scrolled down. The C- must've been a courtesy grade.
    Have a nice week, Martha.

    1. He was terrific in the film, and so were the other actors. There was even humour in it, too. But it wasn't a fantastic film. At least I didn't think so.

  13. Re: the first picture- when I live in Idaho, that was a valid question! Some people had outhouses, no indoor bathrooms.

    1. I know about those outhouses! When I was 7, my parents took us all to visit family in Greece, and when we visited my uncle who was living in tents while he was building his house, we had to use an outhouse! That experience was quite unique to us city kids!

I went biking just a little while ago with hubby, had a great outing.

  16. Have you always bicycled a lot? I was on a bike a couple of weeks ago for the first time in over 30 years! I wobbled and could not drive in a straight line but I didn't fall off. Just wondering if you have always cycled or did you pick it up after a long time away from a bike (such as myself). Just wondering as I'm thinking of doing it more regularly. Love the sale where you saved 100%...that's my sort of thinking. Have a great week Martha!

    1. HOLYMOLY, Cathy! After 30 years of not using a bike, I imagine that's quite normal. I bet you'll get right back into it after some practice. I hadn't ridden since we moved here in 2009. And before that, I think the last time I'd gotten on a bike was when Alex was a year old. So although it hasn't been consistent, it hasn't been a few decades! That certainly helps. Just give yourself some time. And you'll have so much fun when you get get going.
