Interesting Sightings

“If you saw a man drowning and you could either save him or photograph the event...what kind of film would you use?”
- Anonymous -

When I started paying attention to my surroundings, really paying attention, photography became that much more enjoyable. Because that’s when I began noticing some interesting, unusual, fascinating and even amusing things.

Like in the images below:

Colourful shops brighten up the street.

What you see when you look up through a hydro tower (transmission tower).

The first time in my life I've ever seen Purple Martins. Can you say excited?

Wow, kids are quite sophisticated with their sidewalk drawings these days.

An old phone booth. How cool is this?

Unbeknownst to me at the time, this fish is kissing my a$$. (Photo by the most amazing man in the world.)

How often do you see a warning like this? People actually made this sign necessary.

You've been warned...

A beautiful day, to all!

  1. Great shots! I must admit, I've never seen a sign about public urination before. My oh my, are Kingstonians big public pee-ers? And we have a gazillion purple martins on the prairies. People love them because they eat their body weight in mosquitoes every day or something like that. So those big purple martin houses are everywhere out in the country.

    1. This is my first sighting of such a sign. I guess some Kingstonians are big public pee-ers...LOL... Actually, there's an outdoor hockey arena near this sign, and I guess some of the players were sneaking over to where this fence is to pee. Thus, the sign.

Purple martins are very beloved birds, but I'd just never seen one before.

    1. Yes, shops like that add a lot of charm to an area. And they make you smile. Thankfully, we've got some like that around here. I love walking by areas like that and taking photos.

There's no end to how many interesting things you see when you're out and about with a camera in hand!

    1. He likes taking photos of me, and if it wasn't for him doing that, there'd hardly ever be photos with me in them since I take the majority of the pictures!

    1. Thanks for that, Jim. 50! I'm going on 50. And proud of it. I've never minded people knowing how old I am. I don't think it's a big deal. If I'm fortunate and blessed enough, I'll have some more good years.

    1. We always have such a great time together no matter where we go. Even quiet days at home are considered a wonderful day. A lot of that is due to the fact that we really like each other and get along so well! And I think you know exactly what I mean!

    2. I do know what you mean and by gosh, does it seem rare. I can't get over how many couples take separate holidays. I don't get that. We have a few people we know that do that and what's the point? I dunno.

Anyway, I think I am about caught up on your blog. That was fun.
