My name is Martha, and I'm originally from Montreal, Quebec in Canada. I've been living in Kingston, Ontario since 2009 - one of Canada's best kept secrets!

You will find something for everyone on this blog, so drop by for a visit when you can.
When I'm not here, I'm hanging around my other blog that is all about photos. You can find it here: Just PIXture It.
I also spend some time here, here and here.
Hey Martha, I just noticed your pages or would have commented sooner! You are right when you say Kingston is one of Canada's best kept secrets - it's a great city. I'm quite surprised to read that you enjoy blogging... hehe, who knew?!
ReplyDeleteI love it here. It's small enough to be quiet, yet big enough to have eveything we need.
DeleteYes, no one would guess that I enjoy blogging!
Hi Martha! I couldn't watch Mr. Bean - some copyright thing - but I enjoyed the Johnny Carson quote. There were always fruitcake wars in our family (on my father's side). My grandmother would make a light fruitcake, and her sister would make a dark. For years everyone had to make both kinds so as not to insult either sister. I have to confess, I'm someone who actually loves fruitcake. My nephew just got accepted into Queens for engineering. I'm not sure if he'll actually land there - this is his first acceptance from a batch of applications. He has lived most of his life in Kuwait City and is so longing to get back to Canada, so I'm sure Queens is high on the list. I'm glad to hear that it's a great city. Have a good one!
ReplyDeleteThat happens to me with videos at times. I'm not sure why. And it's a fairly recent experience, so something has changed.
DeleteI love your story about the fruitcake! And I have to say that I like it, too. A neighbour once gave me fruitcake cookies during a cookie exchange gathering, and they were amazingly good!
Queens University is one of the best in the country, so your nephew will be in a great school if he comes here. And Kingston is a beautiful city! We've been here for about 3 1/2 years now, and still keep saying that moving here was the best thing we ever did.
