Celebrating The Changing Of The Seasons

One of the things I’m going to enjoy tremendously, now that I’m finally a homeowner, is decorating the front entrance of my home to reflect a particular time of year. Nothing extravagant, mind you, just an addition of a few little items to highlight the colours of a specific season. And autumn, with all of its earthy tones, makes for one of the loveliest displays.

Here is this season’s look:

Celebrating the changing of the seasons by altering the look of our home’s entrance is something I know I’m going to look forward to every few months. I can’t wait to work on the winter display. Snowmen and sleighs and wreaths...oh my...

  2. Very nice! That's another area where I fail every year - I always WANT to decorate but am too lazy to actually do so, then swear I'm going to do it next year. Sigh. At least there's time till Halloween to buck the trend.

  4. Martha girl that is really cute ! Where did you get your straw from ? .. I resorted to Michael's because I didn't want the BIG one from Canadian Tire .. but you gotta' have some straw to make it look right ... right ? LOL

  5. What a cute front porch! And I see your flowers are still doing quite lovely!
I can't wait to own my own house to do the same thing! My boyfriend is always making these grand plans for decorating our house, especially on Halloween, so if I'm lucky I'll get to enjoy all the fruits of his hard labor! :) Well, maybe I'll help him out a little!

Hey there Tatiana, don’t worry about that. There’s no rule about decorating the front area. Unless it’s Halloween! :)

Hiya Beth! For whatever reason, I love scarecrows. I wonder if I was a farmer in a previous life :)

I can’t wait to decorate for the winter season. All those pretty colours; all those festive items to add. Yahoo!

Hiya Joy! You’re going to laugh but I got the straw from Michae’s too! I was driving by and there it was outside the store. I couldn’t resist. And like you, I only wanted a small amount, so Canadian Tire was out. And yes, what the heck is the fall season with straw? Next to the pumpkins, of course… :)

Hey Pale Gardener! It’s nice to find you in my comments area....:) Yup, the flowers in the front are doing beautifully. And yes, you will definitely enjoy this part when you have your own home. You’ll get there; just be patient. I didn’t own a home until now and I’m in my 40s…. Did I say that out loud? LOL…Bah, you’re as old as you feel!
