A Single Photograph

This is one of my favourite childhood photos. It’s a picture of me and the younger of my two older brothers. He and I are only eleven months apart, and being so close in age, we were the best of friends as young children, and totally inseparable.

This photo depicts clearly just how close we were. Like two peas in a pod.

  1. Now how cute is that picture !!
I am jealous of you Martha .. sibling closeness is a rare bond .. so many of us have such intense issues that have separated our relationships .. intense negative incidents that can not ever be mended.
You are a very lucky sister and your brother is a very lucky man : )
Loved seeing the picture : )

  2. two sure were adorable! You almost look like twins. You really are so fortunate to have that closeness---it's something I always yearned for with my sister and brothers, but never had.

  3. Joy, my brothers and I have always gotten along. Even as small children, we never had fights. We just got lucky; the chemistry is just right. It doesn't always work out like this because we don't get to choose our families. There's never a guarantee that siblings will get along. It's the luck of the draw.

Thank you Beth! We were so close in age that we really did look like twins. And like I wrote above, we don't get to choose our families, the way we do our friends, so unfortunately things don't always turn out the way we want. I got lucky and I'm so very grateful for that.
