A Single Photograph

What better way to start a new month than with a picture of a beautiful flower growing in my garden:

The bloom is from my Rudbeckia hirta ‘Cherry Brandy’ plant. I’m so in love with Rudbeckias!

  1. Lovely colour on your rudbekia. I'm in love with the too ... the best part is they require little or no looking after.

  2. You are so right, crafty gardener. These plants require little or no care; they are simply amazing!

  3. Very nice, Martha! I love rudbekias, too. Strangely, though, this year something actually ate some of the petals off some of mine, as well as my coneflowers. I didn't want to put any poison on them because of bees and butterflies, but it was frustrating to see petals disappear overnight.

  4. Don't you hate that, Beth? When bugs eat up your favourite plants? I don't mind a nibble or two, but when the infestation is severe, it's very frustrating. And the pests always - ALWAYS - seem to target the plants you cherish the most. I don't know how, but they just know.
