Basking In The Sun

Last weekend, we took a stroll through Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area; a 394 hectare (970 Acres) conservation area located north of the city of Kingston, Ontario. In the winter, the area is popular for ice skating, cross country skiing and snowshoeing. In the summer, activities include canoeing, kayaking and bird watching. This conservation area is composed of pond, marsh, field and forest habitats. A diverse collection of animal and plant species can be found in it.

Somewhere along the way, we spotted this little critter basking in the sun:

Of course, I had to stop and take a photo of the little dude, so I can share it with all of you. Doesn’t that make you feel special?
