Bulbs, Front And Back

So a little more time has passed and the spring bulbs continue to grow. The ones I planted in the backyard bask in the sun for hours on end, so they began to show signs early in March. They faced a few very cold days and night, but have managed to keep on growing. This is where they’re at:

There’s still a little while to go, but at least they’re continuing to develop. The flower buds are visible on many of the plants, so it’s just a matter of time now.

The bulbs I planted in front of the house don’t enjoy as much sun as the ones in the back, so they took their sweet time getting started. They finally decided a few days ago to brave the elements and spring forward. You can barely see the sprouts, but they’re there:

I can't wait to see all the pretty flowers...

  1. You guys sure have the jump on spring - we are still snow-covered, with only the very edges bare. I'm sure there's something stirring down there by now, but it's hard to tell :)

  2. It won't be long now, Jane, I'm sure. Old man winter can only hang around for so long before spring gives him the boot. I can't wait until the outdoor greenery is in full swing!
