“One touch of nature makes the whole world kin.”

  1. When I was a kid on the prairies, irises used to be called "flags." Sometimes people still know what that means if they're old geezers like me.

  2. So pretty! Too bad they don't bloom longer.

  3. Debra, I've never heard that term: 'flags'. And I'm kind of an old geezer myself. But then again, I've never grown irises before.

It really is too bad, Cynthia. The blooming period is awfully short.

  4. They are beautiful - irises always strike me as lush and tropical looking.

  5. Jane, this is my first time growing irises. My neighbour gave me some last year from his garden and I am now in love ---- with the flowers, not the neighbour! ...LOL...
