Vita Sackville-West created the White Garden, one of many at Sissinghurst Castle, in Kent. I just looked it up and it is one of the most visited gardens in England, but I couldn't remember the name of it!
One of my favourite flowers! The 'Hollyhock' is such an old flower and was a staple in most gardens. These are BEAUTIFUL! What a tease you are showing these in mid winter! lol
So glad to have found your blog with it's delightful pictures and inspirational thoughts. I found you through your comments on She Who Seeks

ReplyDeleteI love white in a garden, it is so elegant. It's warming up here!! We went from -28 to 0 in the span of two days... crazy!

@Kay: A garden with only white flowers? Wow. That must be pretty amazing. I'll look it up on the internet. Thanks for the info.

@Jane: I love white flowers. They do have a simple elegance to them. Your weather is as weird as ours. I hope our spring isn't as unstable.

@Jim: I love these plants, and I enjoy the flowers as much as I can, because they're short-lived in my backyard; unfortunately, the rabbits eat them.
