"You know I could rent you out as a decoy for duck hunters?"

Remember ‘The Wonder Years’? It was a television comedy-drama that ran for six seasons on ABC from 1988 through 1993. It depicted the social and family life of a boy (Kevin Arnold) in a typical American suburb from 1968 to 1973, covering his ages of 12 through 17. It was very popular program; the coming-of-age stories are heartwarming...and hilarious.
Below is a funny scene from one of the episodes. Kevin told his girlfriend Winnie that he will be thinking about her at every hour, but he saw a new girl in class...
I loved the Wonder Years! Fred Savage was perfect in that TV show, he is also the same child actor in "The Princess Bride" that I also loved.
ReplyDeleteBut getting back to The Wonder Years, I wonder (HA HA) why that TV show is not shown now, in other words, they repeat every other show in ad nauseum, why not one that is good?
I also loved this show - I'd forgotten how adorable little Kevin was :) I agree with Kay - this one should be playing in rerun heaven.
ReplyDeleteYes, that was a good show!
ReplyDeleteYep, I arrived in Canada just in time to catch the tail end of the Wonder Years, good stuff. And is it any wonder girls prefer older boys? :)
ReplyDelete@Kay G.: Welcome to my blog! And I've also been hoping that they'll do reruns. I'd love to watch this show!

@Jane: He was a cute kid. And so innocent.

@Debra: There have been some good ones in the past.

@Tatiana: At least you got a chance to see some of it. Yup, there's a reason why girls prefer older boys!
You have a great blog! And just wondering, did you know that the person who was narrating the show is the same actor, the tall one who was the villian in the movie, "Home Alone"? I could look up his name but I'm lazy! Okay, okay...I am trying NOT to be lazy this year, his name is Daniel Stern!
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite shows. I think I am one of the very few people that liked Square Pegs too.
ReplyDelete@Kay: Thank you, Kay! And I had no idea about the narrator. That is very interesting! Another cool piece of trivia to file away in this old brain :)

@WebDebris: I think this show was familiar to most people. It reminded us of our high school days. Square Pegs sounds a little familiar; not sure if I've seen it. I'll have to check that out.
