It Snowed!

Yes, folks, you heard right...it was snowing.

Poor Mr. Robin; he wasn’t able to use his bird bath this morning.

And I won’t be sitting on this chair taking photos of my backyard friends. Everything is soaked out there.

I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw what weather we were having when I woke up. Snow in April? All winter it’s been dry and now it snows. ARGH!

I guess I won’t be out gardening today...

Even Mrs. Robin, who is sitting on her nest, is not amused.

This is just temporary, of course, but still... I was just getting used to spending more time outdoors and now this. ARGH!

Welcome to Canada...where it’s possible to experience all four seasons within a few days.

  1. Canada is a little crazy with that! Down here in the States we've had a cold front too. No snow where I am, but it was just warming up and getting nice, and them wham! My wife had to argue with our 5 year old about how it was warm yesterday, but it's cold today, so she can't wear her new summer sundress! My youngest loves all those frilly dresses.

    1. Canada is A LOT crazy with that :) That cold front you're experiencing is up here, too. I don't know what's up with that. Your daughter sounds adorable. I loved that age with my kids. It's a lof of fun.

  2. That would be a big surprise for sure. I know you are anxious for spring but it does look kind of cool. I like the picture you took of the snow and the flowering tree.

    1. I hadn't even noticed that photo, but it does depict a couple of seasons together.

    1. It truly is grim. I expect this in March, not April. April is the month when the garden is supposed to be growing and all the backyard critters should be hanging around, including the tiny critters like butterflies and bees and dragonflies!

  5. Oh weee! :( Not. I'm not in Canada, but close, and we have gotten snow at darnedest of times. Like on my birthday in May. Oh my gosh! I actually made a bet with my son that year. I bet it snows on my birthday. And it did. Down came big fluffy HUGE flakes and we went outside to play in them. LOL It only lasted an hour or so and then it was sunny, got warm later in the afternoon. Weird day. I hope you all get your spring weather back soon.
