National Drop Everything And Read Day

Also known as D.E.A.R. Day, this is a special reading celebration to remind families to take at least 30 minutes, put aside all distractions and enjoy books together.

The holiday also coincides with the birthday of children’s book author Beverly Cleary, who is a spokesperson for the event. Though marketed towards children, the celebration is open to one and all.

As far as I’m concerned, every day is a great day to read.

Dr. Seuss says it best...

  1. Me too, I will drop anything to pick up something to read.
