This 1972 song from Lou Reed received wide radio coverage, despite it touching on taboo topics such as transsexuality, drugs, male prostitutes, oral sex and the term "colored" to refer to African Americans. In the United States, RCA released an edited version of the song which eliminated the song's reference to oral sex.
For sure, one of the oddest songs I’ve ever heard.
He walked the walk and talked the talk!
ReplyDeleteHe sure did!
DeleteI like this tune. I have a version (can't remember who created it) that uses George W. Bush's voice. They took words from his speeches to match the words in his song. It was neat to listen to.
ReplyDeleteI should look that one up. Maybe it's available online somewhere. It sounds very interesting.
