Today's Trivia - Buried In A Pringles Can

The name Frederic John Baur may not mean anything to you, but you’re sure to be familiar with one of his most famous creations: the Pringles container. This American chemist and food storage technician is notable for designing and patenting this unique packaging.

And he was so proud of his creation that he wanted to take it to the grave with him...literally. Before he died, Baur requested of his children that he be buried in the iconic container. His children honoured his request when he died in 2008 at 89, by placing part of his cremated remains in a Pringles container. The rest of his remains were placed in an urn buried along with the can with some placed in another urn and given to one of Baur's grandchildren.

According to his son Larry, Baur’s children briefly debated what flavor canister to use before settling on original.

Hey, whatever makes you happy as you head over to the other side...
