Today's Trivia - How Long Do New Year’s Resolutions Last?

Do you make a lot of New Year’s resolutions each year only to break them within days or weeks? Well, don’t feel bad; you’re not alone. Research shows many people don’t honour their resolutions for more than a week, and a lot of resolutions are broken within the month.

So, why end up disappointed? Just don’t bother with resolutions! And if you made any, forget about them. It's already over a week since the New Year kicked in, so you're done.

Maybe the cat will succeed.

Take it one day at a time!

  1. Ha! I think some of those resolutions are the only ones I'd be able to stick to, especially the sleep one.

  4. I've never made resolutions (although I'm tempted to say 'Cuddle even more with cats'). I prefer to think of each day as a new beginning!

  5. Ha, get more sleep for cats. Ha!! Cats are really something, crazy little things. I made a resolution this year, but it's somethign I've been working on anyway, so it's just an ongoing thing. And I guess New Years was just a way to affirm the goal. I didnt' know that so many people quit resolutions so quickly, haha! Humans are crazy too, I guess.

    1. Hahaha...yes, humans are quite crazy! I think they get caught up in the feeling of the holidays and make resolutions they can't keep up with!

  7. Cats are always up to something. Even in their sleep, their little feet are twitching or they make little crying noises. Oh what they must dream about!

  8. Ha ha! Love the cat's resolutions! I've tried to voice my opinion more online at the local newspaper but quite frankly, there are so many weird people arguing with each other in a very nasty way, not only has it been an eyeopener, it has made me wonder if there is any sense in it. sigh. May be another resolution that bites the dust.

    1. I know what you mean, Francie. I enjoy voicing my opinion, but only with people that are willing to have an honest and respectful exchange with me. I find that a lot of people think that being aggressive and nasty is a way to make their point. It isn't. It's just being aggressive and nasty. It's too bad if you have to give up writing to the editor of the newspaper, but you can always say what you have to say on your blog.

    1. I haven't made resolutions for years. I just try to enjoy each new day, and be the best person I can be. Life is too short to do otherwise.
