Many believe that ‘The Exorcist’, a film about possession by the devil, was cursed. At one point during filming, the set burned down without explanation. A handful of cast and crew members were rumoured to have died during production, including an assistant cameraman's baby, a night watchman and an actor whose character had died in the film (Jack MacGowran).
The strangest thing of all is that Linda Blair, who played the possessed Regan, apparently foretold the deaths of crew members’ weeks before.
Reports indicate that a priest by the name of Thomas Bermingham was asked to perform an exorcism of the set.
Creepy.
Good grief, how awful. You know, I've never been comfortable watching these sorts of movies; I've always wondered about the people who agree to do them (and well, the people who enjoy them as well!).
ReplyDeleteI don't really mind them, but some are badly made. This one was a big hit in its time. I haven't decided whethere I liked it or not.
DeleteSuper creepy!
ReplyDeleteSure is!
DeleteThis is another one of those famous movies that I have never watched!
ReplyDeleteI saw it, but I'm not sure if I liked it. I read the book, and it was slightly better.
DeleteYep, saw that movie back in the day. Not one of my favourites. Interesting about the conjecture of supernatural stuff surrounding it.
ReplyDeleteNot one of my favourites, either. But it was very popular.
DeleteSounds like a publicity stunt to me. On the other hand, the movie certainly did drive a stake through Linda Blair's acting career.
ReplyDeleteIt sure did!
DeleteOMG! I so remember that film! A very DARK movie. It scared the beegeezers out of me! It was the first movie Ron and I saw together.....he scared me just as much as Linda Blair!!lol
ReplyDeleteIt scared the beegeezers out of just about everyone. It was quite creepy.
DeleteI have a habit of screaming in very scary films ~~~ what's the big deal ~~~ better that than screaming out on the street ~~~ I'd get locked up if I did that. Oh man, the movie scared me and Jim LOL!
ReplyDeleteHahahaha...yes, better that than screaming in the streets!
Deletemust of been punishment for the awful sequels in the future
ReplyDeletehahaha...yes. Those sequels were awful!
DeleteI agree with Debra. Sounds like a publicity stunt. Reminds me of the stage hand that hanged himself in the Wizard of Oz.
ReplyDeleteThat would not surprise me. A lot of those things are publicity stunts.
DeleteI never heard of the stage hand that hanged himself! I'll have to look that up.
I know others also got badly injured. Still creepy hehehehehe
ReplyDeleteYes, quite creepy!
