A Sea Of Daisies

Last summer was a record-breaking hot year for my beautiful city, and matters were made worse with a severe lack of rainfall. My plants struggled to stay alive. Most of them made it. Some didn’t. The production of flowers was horribly minimal. And they didn’t stick around for long once they appeared. It was a terrible gardening season.

2013 is a cooler, wetter year. And my plants are happy as clams. There is an explosion of growth, and flowers are popping up everywhere. It is a botanical heaven.

I have taken dozens of photos, some of which I’d like to share over the next few weeks. But today, I’d like to focus on one of the most beautiful flowers in the garden.

The daisy.

Daisies brighten up the garden and make me smile.

So simple and yet so elegant.

What a difference a year makes...

    1. I'd rather have a little extra rain and a little less sun than the brutally hot and dry summer of last year!

  5. I always remember that in "You've Got Mail" she said daisies are such a friendly flower. I think it's so true.

  10. When my sister was very little, she had a t-shirt that had a flower bending over to kiss a sweet little girl and it said, "Have A Nice Daisy".
Your post reminded me of it!
