It was a fabulous couple of days! Nothing like getting together with good friends.
Today, everyone is back in their homes and their routines, and it’s the start of a brand new week.
Let’s kick start it with some humour!
Always By His Side
A woman's husband had been slipping in and out of a coma for several months, yet she had stayed by his bedside every single day. One day, when he came to, he motioned for her to come nearer. As she sat by him, he whispered, eyes full of tears, "You know what? You have been with me all through the bad times. When I got fired, you were there to support me. When my business failed, you were there. When I got shot, you were by my side. When we lost the house, you stayed right here. When my health started failing, you were still by my side. You know what?" "What dear?" she asked gently, smiling as her heart began to fill with warmth. ”I think you're bad luck."
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, and I wish you all a terrific week ahead.
Sound like you had a lovely weekend with your friends staying over.

You make me laugh and I make you laugh. We're going to blow up one of these days, Suzan!
DeleteFriends are the best!
ReplyDeleteAnd so happy that your hubby played his guitar on stage!
Now, if you we could just talk MY husband into doing the same!
(Our son just did, but Richard is the one who taught C. how to play!)
Love the funny things you find!
I always enjoy getting together with this couple and their kids; they are such a great family. And their timing couldn't have been better with my husband playing in that pub!
DeleteOh those are hilarious!!! Sadly there ain't enough booze in this world to make my inlaws tolerable.
ReplyDeleteNot even the really hard liquor? LOL...
DeleteGlad your weekend was fun, Martha... friends are the glue that holds this crazy life together!
ReplyDeleteAnd when they're fun, too, all the better!
DeleteCongrats to your hubby for his first public gig! That's awesome! :)
ReplyDeleteIt was very awesome! I'm glad our friends from out of town were here to enjoy it.
DeleteI love when friends come to stay. Congrats to Hub on his first professional gig x
ReplyDeleteI enjoy friends visiting, too. Really puts life into our home!
DeleteExcellent LOLs! My fave is the one over on your sidebar -- if mosquitoes sucked fat, they'd be on the protected species list.
ReplyDeleteHow I wish! I'd be out there every evening!
Deletefunny t-rex one
ReplyDeleteYes, I love that one!
DeleteGlad you had such a wonderful week-end with old friends!! I loved the witches starter kit. You have to wonder who puts these things together, eh??
ReplyDeleteI do wonder...and I am thankful for their wacky imagination!
Delete'Apt 2b kids....' LOL! Thanks, Martha!
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed, Jim! Blogger had put your comment in the Spam box and I had to get you out of there! What the heck is up with that??
DeleteSo cool that your husband had his first gig---hope it's the first of many. It is indeed a wonderful thing to spend time with old and dear friends---they are the ones you can really be yourself with.
ReplyDeleteCatching up with your posts since I've been absent from the blogosphere. Your photos are better then ever, Martha. You have the eye of an artist.
Beth! I am so happy to see you hear. I have been thinking about you a lot lately, especially when I'm out in the garden and the birds and bees are buzzing around. I always think "Beth would like this. I wonder how she's doing." Thank you for the compliment about my images. I am really enjoying this wonderful hobby.
DeleteI hope you and your loved ones are all doing well. And I hope you write a blog post one day to let us all know how things are. I certainly miss you.
I always bury the junk food under healthy stuff.
ReplyDeleteThat's the way to shop! I do, too.
Deletewhat a lovely time with friends! Thanks for the humour today!
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome! A smile a day keeps the blahs away...

DeleteI will take the first one and the last one!!! Priceless. I guess I feel lucky I love my in-laws... but my ex's mother was a psycho.
ReplyDeleteLucky you, Ana, that's she's not in your life!
DeleteYour hubby plays the git-box....that is so cool!!
