Inside My Introverted Brain

My blogging weeks typically end with the ‘Sunny Side Up’ posts, and although I really enjoy putting them together, I’d like to include something different, now and then. So, I’m introducing a new blog theme called ‘Inside My Introverted Brain’ that will share some of my random thoughts. Normal, weird or otherwise.

I’ll start off this week with what instigated this...

I have a lot of random thoughts, and although some of them are profound and philosophical, others are downright ludicrous. And I don’t usually share them; not even with my husband who always asks “What’s on your mind?” to which I always answer “Nothing important...” Because truly, it’s not important. But I decided to indulge him on one of our walks.

I’d been thinking about heads that day. Peoples’ heads. In the future. How big they’d be. Sitting on small frames. Somewhere I’d read that thousands of years from now human bodies would be smaller because of lack of activity and exercise, and the heads would be larger. Because of increased intelligence. Hahaha...now, that's funny...increased intelligence...

It all sounded silly to me, but there it was. Stuck in my head. And I conjured up a hilarious image of humans with small bodies and huge heads.

Something like this:

Can you imagine the inconvenience of it all? Picture yourself trying to hug another ‘big-headed’ individual. Or riding on a motorcycle with them. Or simply walking side by side, heads banging into each other.

I mean, seriously… *snort*

And that, folks, is one of the random thoughts inside my introverted brain...
(images stolen borrowed from here)

Make it a great weekend, everyone!

  1. Gees, you may have hit upon something very LARGE here Martha. You should have seen the size of my head when I was a tyke, not a tryke but a wee one. HUGE-MENT!!! SO obvious to me and everyone else as they keeled over in laughter!

    Loved this!

    1. That is funny! I certainly don't think you were alone. A lot of kids have over-sized heads until they grow into them! I should look at my baby photos. Perhaps I was one of them...LOL...

  2. I like random thoughts inside your introverted brain. This was fun to read and oh my gosh, I love when I see videos of little puppies and their noggins are too heavy to lift. Too cute.

  7. Very funny, Martha! I'm thinking about problems giving birth! It's my understanding that head sizes can't exceed the size of a birth canal. LOL!

  9. HA! You had entirely too much fun with this! Actually, since humans are relying more and more on technology to do their "thinking", maybe heads will actually become smaller. After all, not using the brains much; might as well down-size, right? And since humans spend so much time parked on their posteriors, maybe THAT will become the (even more) enlarged part of our anatomies.

  10. This is so funny! I also have a very vivid thought life that I rarely share with anyone because it is so absurd. One of the thoughts I had that I did share was this. My cat Norbert falls in love with hockey player for Boston, Patrice Bergeron. In my imagination Norbert and Patrice leap and bound doing spins and twirls in my back yard. Patrice of course is wearing his skates. Norbert ends up running away with Patrice and living in Boston. He gets seats behind the Boston bench and makes rude faces directed at me.

    1. That is too funny! Norbert leads a very interesting life inside your brain.

I've had a silly, vivid imagination since I was a wee one. Makes life very interesting - and a lot of fun!

  16. I really enjoyed this post, Martha! My random thoughts are often in "cartoon" images. Can you imagine what fun (or not) we would have if everybody's random thoughts were in little balloons like cartoon dialogue?! Thanks for the entertainment :)

    1. That photo is not mine, but I do have a black cat that looks exactly like that. Her tail is thinner, but the rest is pretty much the same. She is completely black, from the tip of her nose to the end of her tail; not another colour on her.
