Look Around You At This Beautiful World

“Drink in the richness of the whole, beautiful world that exists beyond the obvious.
Marvel each and every day at the magnificence of life.”
- Unknown -

I’ll be the first to admit that most days I am very cynical about the human race. I think that we are the greediest, cruelest and most destructive species on earth.

War, violence, slavery, prejudice, terrorism, oppression, pollution, religious strife, social unrest, and on and on... Why do we behave so badly?

Do we not realize what a magnificent world we live in? How precious life is?

Do we not notice the endless wonders that surround us? The miracles? The breathtaking, awe-inspiring sights, sounds and smells?

How could all this splendour go by unnoticed? How could it not create inner and outer peace?

Step outside. Look around. Be amazed.

Wishing you all an awesome weekend!

  8. Amen! Amen! Amen! I couldn't agree more with you. Well said. We will drive this world right into the ground. We are in climatee change and there are still deniers. What are we doing? Changing things to adapt to climate change? We can't beat it!

    1. Yes, we will drive this world right into the ground! Unless we wake up and start being more responsible!

  9. My favorite song.... I told my son to have Louis' version played at my ashes to the wind ending....

I thoroughly enjoy nature. I know lots of people who do. I also know people who can not see the forest for the trees. I also know people who couldn't relax if you knocked 'em upside the head…. tooooo hyper.

Why? dunno. Why do we enjoy it so much…. dunno. why would a grown woman steal a baseball from a little girl at a baseball game… dunno. why would a homeless man return a backpack with … forget how much money $10,000? it was five figures regardless…. so far donations to him have amounted to $100,000…

For every lousy asshole on this planet …. hopefully, there are at least two nonassholes. I'm going with that.

This shit for brains Congress we have needs to be taken out to the desert with just a canteen of water between them and fight for survival..

    that's what I think …

    1. Hahaha...I love that idea, Carolyn! There are a lot of people that should be taken out to the desert like that!

I still can't get over that woman snatching the baseball from a little girl. It frustrates the heck out of me!

  10. Martha, i agree with what you said and throughout my life i notice that the opposite of love is not hate, the opposite of love is Fear....all the wrongs in world are cause by fearing....we put up barriers out of fear, we kill because we fear being killed FEAR is the monster that has to leave, before there is peace on earth one soul at a time

    1. Yes, fear is certainly a driving force for many of the horrible things going on around the world. And so is greed!

  11. I have had those thoughts so many times, Martha. It's amazing to me that we, who have been blessed with such a beautiful planet, seem intent on raping and destroying it.

    1. And in the process, we will destroy ourselves. Honestly, I have more sympathy for everything else on this planet...less for humans.
