Chuckles and Chortles

Another weekend has come and gone. Did you enjoy it? I hope so. We spent most of it outdoors enjoying the beautiful weather and all that Mother Nature has to offer. I made more friends along country roads, and took about a gazillion photos. Again. Some of which will eventually end up on this blog.

It is Thanksgiving weekend for us, so today everyone is off. We didn’t celebrate yesterday like many people do because my daughter was working, so we’ll be doing that this evening. I’m preparing a pumpkin pie this morning to enjoy after tonight’s supper, which only hubby and I will do. My daughter does not like it. Do you like pumpkin pie? You do? Well, why don’t you come on over later today? I’ll save a slice for you...

Well, enough of the blah, blah, blah. Let’s get to the humour.

Make it a great day, everyone. And happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Canucks. We have so much to be grateful for, don’t we? We certainly do.

  1. I can't say if I like pumpkin pie or not - I've never had the opportunity to try it. I had better add it to my must-eat list (there are approximately 670 cheeses already on it, so it is a low calorie list... ahem). Happy thanksgiving to you - may your pants be stretchy and your pumpkin pie the best you've ever eaten.

    1. You must try pumpkin pie at least once! Just to say you tried it. You may or may not like it. I love the taste of pumpkin, so I make it every Thanksgiving!

I was certainly grateful for stretchy pants yesterday!

    1. Surprisingly, there is plenty of pie left! We ate too much food and there was hardly any room for anything else!

I don't think there's a pie made that I don't like. can't think of one. pumpkin pie with real whipped cream is good stuff.

I saw a recipe for a … healthy ~ no sugar … smoothie … need to make that. do I remember where I put the recipe? …. all I know for sure is that it's online… ha

    1. I've been making a healthier version of just about everything in the past few years. I'm just around the corner of turning 50 and my body decided that the metabolism part of it is no longer that necessary! So now I have to be more careful about what I eat. But that's fine. Eating healthier is a good thing anyway, right? And there are so many amazing recipes out there that tone all the fat and calories, and you don't even notice the difference in taste!

  14. Hope you had a great holiday weekend. I bought some canned pumpkin yesterday. Still too tired to bake but during the next week or so, I should be up and running.

PS: Yesterday was my last day at work.

    1. It was very nice, and the pumpkin pie was amazing! I'll have to make another one soon. I picked up some more canned pumpkin to do just that. Maybe in a couple of weeks or so. You'll be up and running in no time now that you've left a job that was beating you down!
