Chuckles and Chortles

Happy Monday, folks! Did you enjoy the weekend? I hope you all did. And if it wasn’t a good one, I hope the week proves better.

We’re moving closer to Christmas with each passing day, and I’m so looking forward to it. This week will be another busy one as I continue to be stressed creative in the kitchen. In addition to more chocolate lollipops, there are some cookies and cake pops on the horizon.

On Friday, I baked gingerbread cookies and chocolate fudge cookie bites, and didn’t even so much as lick the batter off the beaters before cleaning them up. Why? Because after you’ve prepared, shaped and baked a gazillion things, you’re sick of it all. Just sick of it. Your appetite is shot, and the very thought of eating anything makes you ill. Now I see how some bakers maintain a decent weight.

Anyhow, let’s get to what you’re here for, the humour!

Wishing you all a great week!

  1. That ornament is hysterical and so true these days. Somebody is bound to get offended by some name, or leaving out some holiday at the school "holiday play".

    1. Yup, people are too touchy feely these days. I say 'lighten up' already, and celebrate whichever way makes you happy.

    1. We spend too much time worrying about nonsense because we don't have real issues to deal with. I think we should all just take a deep breathe and relax!

  13. Baking used to be my fave part of Christmas... kinda growing out of it now. Unfortunately it never affected my sweet tooth LOL. That "no-offense" ball is a sad-but-true modern fact: the innocent Christmas I knew as a child is long gone. :(

    1. I haven't baked like this for a long time, so I decided to give it a go this year. We'll see if I'm as enthusiastic about it next year...hahaha...

Yes, unfortunately we've become a society that gets offended by everything, and we tiptoe around each other. I think everyone should just enjoy this time of year the way it suits them.
