Chuckles and Chortles

Happy Monday, blog friends. How was your weekend? Good, I hope. I had a very quiet one. The highlight of the whole period was the putting away of the Christmas decorations. Can you believe the holidays are over? All that planning, preparing, shopping, rushing, doing, making, baking...and suddenly...POOF...it’s all over. And here we are starting a new year. Unbelievable, right?

I wanted to lay low this weekend because starting today we all go back to our routines, and it starts getting busy, busy, busy again. I have several projects lined up that I hope to get done by the time spring comes around. ‘Cause once spring kicks in, it’s adios to any indoor nonsense. That’s when the garden wakes up. And my backyard buddies return from the south. And the weather is nice. And I’d rather be outside with camera in hand. And we are liberated from the shackles of winter. And we are praising the most glorious season of the year. Hallelujah!

But we’re still quite a ways from spring *sigh*, so I may as well tackle those projects in the meantime.

Anyway, let’s have a good belly laugh together with the first of many 'Chuckles and Chortles' posts of 2014...

Have a great week ahead!

    1. We stepped out last night to go for coffee. The weather was nasty but cabin fever was starting to set in!

    2. I can relate to that. So when the sun pops out, so do I.

You mentioned you visited PA. I live in Northwestern PA. Back when I worked in the fabric shoppe, we'd get lots of Canadian quilters coming in. And in Erie, they get bus loads of Canadian shoppers at the mall.

Here where I live, we have farms, lots of nature and it's just so pretty. What area did you visit?

    3. We stayed in Lancaster, and visited Hershey. There's no way we were going to drive through PA and not go to Hershey; the sweetest place on our trip! We also visited the Amish community, and learned quite a bit about them while there. It was a great time.

    4. That's great. Glad you got to see the country side of PA. I love it here. Though I am from the east coast, county living is more my speed.

      Cheers and boogie boogie.

  3. I don't know where you find these, but they're all hilarious! I'm sending that Costco one to My Rare One. I must keep her away from that store!

  5. Well, today was the day everyone here was supposed to get back into regular routines but Mother Nature thought better of it and snowed us all in. My husband is working from home on the comfy living room sofa, son is sleeping in, and I'm going to doodle around with stuff for Kettle's faery house... well, okay, that's not very different for me. I hope that your busy schedule is something that also sometimes brings you joy. Love the meme with the cat and the dog on riding in the car. So very true. Hugs and blessings, Bird

    1. It was very similar here. My daughter didn't end up going to school because of freezing rain. Today is brutally cold, but at least she's back in school. Hubby always works from home, so nothing changes there aside from him being confined to his office! Hugs to you, too, Bird! Stay warm and safe.

  7. It's all about attitude to survive winter. You've got some good things to keep you busy. You also enjoy the outdoors and winter. You've got it made.

    1. I've never taken a dog for a car ride, but I know that cats are not fans of it! One of mine moans and groans the entire time we are headed to the vet. You'd think she was being tortured!

  13. Christmas tree is comin' down tonight (Epiphany, the 12th day) and I am strangely sad to see it go :( It was a gorgeous fir and the needles are barely starting to fall out. But I guess nobody wants to celebrate Valentine's Day with an 8-ft tree in the dining room :)

As I remarked on FB recently, I'm watching the garden for my tulips to poke their heads up... only 4 months to go *mwaaahaaahaaa*

    1. I was sad to see the Christmas decorations go, but wanted to get it done before the week started. There are so many things I'd like to get done in the next few weeks.

Oh, spring! It won't come too soon for me!
