Chuckles and Chortles

Happy Monday, bloggers. Did you all enjoy the weekend? We took it pretty easy, which is exactly what I need since I’ll be tackling the house this week. It’s in dire need of a good cleanup. Not exactly something I’m looking forward to, but certainly something that is necessary.

Personally, I’m looking forward to selling this house and downsizing considerably after my daughter moves out in a few years. I like small, cozy spaces that are easy to maintain and care for. Because I’d rather be free to be out and about than be saddled by household responsibilities. Small living spaces to me = freedom. What about you?

As you ponder that, and as I get my cleaning supplies in order, let’s laugh together...

Have a great week ahead! And remember to use commas. *snort*

  2. Yes I agree smaler living spaces equal more freedom. But I also dream of a huge back yard so I can't make up my mind :)

And that is one strong car!!!

    1. Then you need a small living space but a big backyard to go with it. Works for me :)

  3. Weekend was great. I love small, cozy places, too, and truly enjoy living the easy, simplified life. Thanx for the bit-o-humor. The crossword puzzle one with CAT was a hoot! And I enjoyed the first one with the snakes. Laughter is indeed the best medicine. Cheers!!

  6. So spot on funny, Martha! And I am with you 100% ~ small, low-maintenance spaces, so I can do what I really want. Why don't you really have a Cinderella party for your daughter ~ invite lots of her friends! Hee Hee!

  8. All of these made me smile!

As for small spaces, I love them! Up until 2 years ago I lived with two kids in a two bedroom condo that was about 900 sq feet. I never had to raise my voice to talk to my kids and we were never more than one room away from each other. Now that they are older and each needing a bedroom of there own I miss the closeness of when they were young.

    1. We used to live in a space about that size before we moved here, and it was SOOO much easier to keep in order. To many people it may sound nuts, but I don't like big homes, or large spaces. Especially is I'm cleaning them!

  9. I really like that cat doing a crossword puzzle - cute and true-to-life.
I generally agree about small spaces, though my bedroom is a bit too small. I'd feel better if I had more space for my clutter.

    Cheers,

    1. I'm a minimalist, so small spaces are not an issue! Get rid of some stuff and free up some space...LOL...

  10. I totally agree about the small living spaces. My huband and i live in a 1200 square foot ranch house. One story.. small space equals excellent!

Love all these chuckles! Can't pick a favorite. :)

    1. Smaller spaces definitely equal more freedom. Eventually we'll sell our home and downsize to a point that cleaning is not stressful!

  11. LOL! Oh my, these are so good. We'll be moving too and I'm not sure I'm looking forward to it. We won't be downsizing but even-sizing. At least that's the plan. Our house isn't that big anyway. But I share your lack of love for household cleaning.

  14. As the four boys start leaving, I am taking over rooms for my crafts LOL. I don't mind moving smaller, as long as I can keep my 13' x 16' sewing/jewelry studio. I'm willing to sleep on a sofa in the kitchen if necessary :)

Every Monday, my Hubby has grown accustomed to hearing me laugh out loud at least once on reading your C&C. This week the car-cow was the culprit... hilarious!

    1. That sounds like a terrific use of space. I'm planning to convert an empty bedroom to an arts and crafts room this winter. I'm tired of having it as a guest bedroom when we hardly ever have guests! Might as well put it to good use!

  15. yes... smaller places or NO places... that's why living in State Parks and such ... seem good to me right now. hate housework .. hate having to do anything. If I had money? I'd really do nothing but play and play and play and then feel good about myself by randomly giving someone something they really wanted.

    wouldn't that be something.... sigh

    1. I'm with you, Carolyn! Housework...bleh... I'm so tired of it. Once we're in a much smaller space, cleaning will be a breeze!

Oh yes, that would be something!
