I always end up with the defective one. |
I also finally cut my hair. It was in desperate need of a trim. So I trimmed it. A lot. I cut most of it off and went rather short. Not as short as I’d planned, but certainly shorter than it’s ever been. It’s much easier to maintain, and I’ll appreciate that when I start spending more and more time outdoors. The only downside is that I don’t look as commanding as I used to (if I ever even did). When I was huffing and puffing about something earlier this week, my husband cracked a smile and said “it’s hard to take you seriously when you look so cute with that haircut”. I may have to grow out my hair to resume my authoritative persona. Hahaha...
Anyhow.
Yesterday, I had a really nice chat with a cashier as she scanned my groceries. Listen to this. About 30 years ago, her father was in a lottery pool, and the group won $10 million dollars. They were one of the first groups to do so. Not sure how many people were in it, or how much money they received individually (I did not ask), but it was enough for him to retire from his job. Her parents have been married for 60 years! What a fun story.

Story of my life... |
Well, let’s end the week with this heartwarming video.
Did you make it till the end without feeling like your heart is being squeezed? I didn’t.
Have a great weekend, everyone!
During a haircut I grabbed the wrong comb-thing for the electric hair cutter and it cut so short I was practically bald.
ReplyDeleteOh...that must have been quite a surprise!
DeleteThese videos get me every time! I love them, they put things into perspective and take away from all the bad news we generally read on the net.
ReplyDeleteYou got it, Ana! That's how I feel, too. They make me feel better about the world we live in with all its problems.
DeleteAs always my dear Martha you bring joy to my heart, now show a photo of your pixie haircut bet you look adorable thank you for always making my day better xxx
ReplyDeleteLorraine, I don't have a pixie cut. I was going to do that, and then I chickened out. It's much shorter, but not SHORT short, if you know what I mean. But I like it shorter, so I may cut off more next time. Eventually hubby will take a photo and I'll share it.
Deleteoh and ps I always end up with the crooked cart i go one way it goes the other...must be someone who wants to tickles introverts, 'cause no one will notice ahlll lol Have a great weekend
ReplyDeleteHahaha...you are probably right!
DeleteMorning, Martha... I'll watch the video later on ... don't want m'heart squeezed this early .. ;) how have I missed a couple of your posts! I don't know. peculiar blog happenings yesterday... My blog roll doesn't update as it should.
ReplyDeleteWell? you looked awfully cuter in your long hair ... hahaa what an adorable thing for your husband to say... aw...
Shopping for clothes used to be my life ... nowadays? bah ~ makes me extremely depressed ... stuffing all these old wrinkles into something to ... what.. not scare the kiddies? haha
ahhhh life and its subsidiaries... hope you all get Spring soon... jeeeeeezus ... that's terrible with all the snow coming along ... pals on our east coast are getting hammered YET again...
I'm not nanner nannering ... but it is gorgeous here in little ol Little Rock... did you get my flowers yesterday? ;)
I sure did get your flowers, Carolyn! Totally brightened up my day :) And don't feel guilty about sharing your beautiful weather. You are WAY down south, so I expect it to be that way. Doesn't bug me at all.
DeleteYour husband is so sweet, some men might not even notice! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteHe is sweet like that. And scores many points for such nice comments. I guess he's a smart man, too :)
DeleteLovely post as always, Martha! Glad you had a good week. I love the video especially the woman having lunch with her husband. Thank you and have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThat woman having lunch with her husband really got to me. I can imagine my mom like that since my dad passed away. It may even be me one day.
DeleteMartha, what a wonderful husband you have, he's for sure a keeper.
ReplyDeleteI have had a great week and the weekend is even going to be better
Smiles
I loved the story the cashier shared with you and that last video warmed my heart so much.
Have a wonderful weekend

Yes, he's definitely a keeper! And I'm so glad to hear you've had a great week! That really makes me happy :)
DeleteThose carts are the reason I now carry only a hand-basket LOL. Have a great weekend, Martha :)
ReplyDeleteThey can drive you batty sometimes, especially when they get heavier and you have trouble pushing them along!
DeleteThat was so sweet of your husband!!! I hate clothes shopping too!!! hate it! Most of the time, I run into Walmart, grab some mommy jeans and say, "done."
ReplyDeleteI'm the same way. I find it all so tiresome!
Deletethanks for the tears today Martha, the happy tears. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteWe all need happy tears now and then! Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!
DeleteYou got me. That was good.
ReplyDeleteI love these types of videos. They are bittersweet sometimes, but they remind us of good things in this world.
DeleteAgreed.
DeleteHi Martha,
ReplyDeleteI know, I know....its been long since I disappeared!!
Undoubtedly I missed your lovely posts.
Eager to see your photographs in your new hair style!!
Chirasree, it's so nice to see you here! Visit whenever you can; no pressure. I really enjoyed your latest post.
DeleteCutting your own hair eh? That must be tricky Martha....especially getting to the back. I bet it feels great and ready for spring....yes spring! It IS coming you know. lol
ReplyDeletehave a great weekend.
Oh no, Jim, I didn't cut my own hair! Is that how it sounds. I went to a hair salon. There's no way I'd cut it myself. I'd be too worried that I'd screw it all up. I don't mind trimming my bangs, but that's about it.
DeleteOh, Martha. I just don't see you as commanding! You are an introverted Highly Sensitive Person and a Blue at that. We are about as commanding as hummingbirds.
ReplyDeleteHahahahahahaha...that is funny! And oh so true. You are right, Birdie :)
DeleteOnly missing the lottery by six numbers - story of my life :)
ReplyDeleteHahaha..yes, it is. For most of us!
DeleteI want to see your haircut!
ReplyDeleteI have been cutting my own for 3 months.....need some ideas!
Great video ♥️
Enjoy your evening...
Cheers!
Linda :o)
There's nothing really special about mine. I'm planning to go shorter the next time because I think I'm going to enjoy less hair to maintain! But I didn't cut it myself, in case that's what my readers think. I'm not good at that.
DeleteYou always post such uplifting things, Martha! Well, and funny things too! I went back to your earlier posts and showed my husband the funny one of cats squeezing into things. Photography relaxes me too. Good luck with your new hairstyle. After thirty plus years of short hair, I grew mine long. So far it's been worth the work. Have a happy week!
ReplyDeletePS ~ I always get THOSE shopping carts! LOL!
DeleteI'll probably grow out my hair again at some point. I think I needed a little change. So tired of the same old.
DeletePhotography is one of my greatest joys. It's like meditation for me!
