Chuckles and Chortles

Happy Monday, everyone! I hope you all had a great week. I really missed you all, and I’m pleased to be back in the blogging world. I enjoyed having some time off to relax, and even catch up on other things, and I may do this from time to time as the weather gets better. But not for a week at a time. Maybe just a couple of days off here and there.

Tuesday was a gloriously warm and sunny day, so we spent the afternoon outdoors touring
our city on foot and taking photos (I'll share some of them with you in future posts).
Thank goodness we went out that day because on Wednesday we had a snowstorm!

I will confess that with my morning coffee, I did peek in on blogs. How could I not? I wanted to see how Birdie was feeling, and whether there was any news from Margie. I wanted to check on Richard and Chistiane as they battle cancer as a united force to be reckoned with. I wanted to see how Ron, who suffered recently from a heart attack, was doing, and how his husband, Jim, was holding up. And how could I not peek in on Carolyn to see if her daughter-in-law had made it as a Warrant Officer? She did!

Honestly, I have no idea how some people quit blogging and walk away from it and all the people they’ve connected with forever. I could never do that; you’re all too special. Group hug, everyone! {{{{{squeeeeze}}}}}

Okay, enough of that. Let’s start the day off right...with a smile!

Wishing you all a lovely week!

  1. I think we all need an occasional breather from blogging every now and then. A vacation is always a good refresher. I am taking one myself in April. Glad to see you back :) thanks for the Monday morning laughs!

    1. I'm happy to be back, Lorraine! I really missed you all. I'll be taking breaks now and then when the weather warms up, but not for a whole week. It's much too long. Maybe I'll just skip a blogging day every once in awhile and use that day to do other things.

  6. Glad to see you back Martha! I'm glad you had an enjoyable week. Tuesday was a wonderful day and then there was Wednesday :( But...we're back to sunny although cool but the snow is still melting. I loved the prize in the cereal box! Our old cat used to do this to us and our young children (at the time) fell for it!! Thanks for the laughs and memories. Have a super day today!! May I also mention that I'll add Ron, Richard and Christiane to my morning prayers, meditation and quiet time.

    2. It was a wonderful break, Cathy. The weather wasn't the best every day, but we got a few nice periods. It can only get better from now on. Sooner or later, winter will be completely gone, and spring will rise! Can't wait. I hope to see you soon so we can catch up.

  9. Morning, Martha ... love the rascal cat in the cereal box! I've been there! hahaaa... yeah, taking a break is a good thing. You know? the fun thing I found I missed when I don't blog are the comments on my iPhone by my bed before I get up.

Weird. I don't know why I do that. Well? I guess I do ... it's kinda like a good morning to me from m'blog pals. I like it.

AND .... I woke up this morning to kblump kaaaaablUmp kblump kaaaaablUmp kblump kaaaaablUmp ings... wth?

Opened the blinds and my neighbor was cleaning off her windshield! what? covered in about an inch of frosty snow/ice.

Another wonderful reason to realize ... I am retired. 20 car pileup on 630 and so on and so forth. I'm having coffee and reading blogs.. hah!

Some good things do happen when y'get old... yeah

    1. I think the comments from bloggers is one of the best things! It certainly makes blogging that much more fun. I've met some wonderful people from different areas in the world, and that is quite exciting. I wish I could meet them all in person. That would be the best.

    1. Can't stay away too long from all of you, Jim! I consider you all friends, and I enjoy learning about you and your lives. I could never stop blogging and just walk away from everybody. No way!

  12. Ah so very kind of you Martha!
I am taking life so very easy right now and plan on it for awhile to come. I do believe I know why my lack of comments on so many blogs over the passed couple months developed. It had mainly to do with just not having the energy. I would begin something and just not finish. January made the obvious, not totally obvious until the end of Feb hit and bam, I was in the hospital. So now I sit and wonder....almost sounds like a song! Jim and I and Sophie too are hanging in and taking 1 day at a time. Jim knows all about my situation even if I had more issues internally. So kind of you for mentioning me and I promise to be more "LOL" on blogs soon!!
    Ron

    1. Well, I'm really glad that everything turned out well, Ron. A lot of people were concerned and worried about you...including me! It's funny how we've built such caring and close relationships with people that we've only met online. And it's wonderful, too. This blogging world is fantastic. I love being able to cross paths with people from around the world that I'd never be able to cross paths with otherwise.

Take it one day at a time. That's all any of us can do! I'm so sooooo happy that you are okay!
