“Photography is my meditation.”
- Czar Anthony Lopez -
Life can be busy and stressful and exhausting, and we all need to do something that relaxes, re-energizes and re-balances us. Photography does that for me. It is my form of meditation; a simple, peaceful and enjoyable pastime that replenishes my very soul.
Here are this week’s random photos...
 |
A friend I made in the country. |
 |
Sweets for the sweet tooth. |
 |
Sunset at Lake Ontario Park. |
 |
Blooms and bees coming soon to a garden near you...and me! |
 |
A peaceful winter scene in the country. |
 |
My cat, Mocha, when she noticed the red light on the camera. Red dot playtime! |
 |
A country scene in the fall. |
 |
Our sweet ferret, Spaz, all tuckered out after running around exploring. |
 |
Having fun with colours. If it's too cold to go out and take photos, find a way indoors. |
 |
Shoal Tower, which is located in the harbour (Confederation Basin) of Kingston, was built in 1847. |
What is your form of meditation?
So stunning your cat looks a little like my Kimmi Karamel and like you being the strong introvert i am photography is my lifeline, so I love all these, bravo Martha
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lorraine! Photography is definitely something we both enjoy.
Deletecute cat
ReplyDeleteShe's a sweetie!
Deletebeautiful relaxing photos. I guess that's why I paint, to relax.
ReplyDeleteThat's probably it, Christine. We all need something.
DeleteGood morning, Martha ;) .... did I know you had a ferret? how cute is he! Mocha is beautiful. Love cat faces - such a sweet looking kitty.
ReplyDeleteLOVE your pictures as always and the sentiments. Love the quotes on your sidebar especially the kissing the earth with your feet .... been too long for me... gotta do that. You are so fortunate to have a hobby that consumes you.
Having a passion for something the ultimate. Would you be surprised to learn that a lot of don't have a passion? Nothing really to our juices flowing... mine? just being free ~ unencumbered. life is one interesting todo ....
Gorgeous gorgeous sunshine today! along with no wind and mild temperatures in the low 60s.... I can stay inside or go outside. AND, that's relaxing ....
well, jumping jeeeez ... typos are one thing but to leave out several words? hahaa... I dunno ... I'll try again...
DeleteHaving a passion for something IS the ultimate. Would you be surprised to learn that a lot of US don't have a passion? Nothing really to GET our juices flowing .... etc.
;)
I think we all have something to relaxes us. Doesn't matter what. And I bet if you think about it, it'll come to you. It doesn't have to be a hobby or something so obvious; just a way that feels almost like meditation.
DeleteWe used to have two ferrets, and one of them passed away a few months ago. His name was Bailey, and he was the first pet we got in this house, so he was very special. He broke hearts when he died. He was the cutest, sweetest little thing. Ferrets are very gentle and quite creatures; something that a lot of people don't know.
Good grief -- your random photos are so much better than my intentional ones Martha. Great!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nancy, but I think your photos are wonderful. We have different styles, but just as much passion.
DeleteYou did have fun with photos here. It's a nice variety.
ReplyDeleteTaking photos is always fun!
DeleteLove photo dump, day. Are you finding it better to have one blog running, rather than two?
ReplyDeleteFor now, yes; one blog is better than two. It definitely is easier to keep up. I really like my photo blog, but I needed to cut back on a few things. I just can't keep up with everything right now!
DeleteI like that you do photo dumps on here. You have a good eye.
DeleteAwhile back, I started a coupon blog. Put up sidebar stuff, all coupon-related but never did one single post. I dunno why.
That's very kind. Photography is the hobby that really relaxes me, and gets me away from the day to day routine. Not that I don't like my day to day routine. But we all need that 'me' time. I would love for you to get that coupon blog up and running. I would certainly become a follower. You are a coupon guru, and I know I'd learn quite a bit. Also, you have a really upbeat personality, and a great sense of humour and writing style. All good stuff!
DeleteI love that photo of Spaz!! What a cutie!
ReplyDeleteHe's a real sweetie!
DeleteA furry horse! Must be Canadian!
ReplyDeleteMocha is adorable!
Look at those colourful popsicle sticks!
My form of meditation would have to walking near the shoreline with camera in hand.
Hahaha...yes, must be a Canadian horse with that fur. He sure needed it this year. I love being by the water, Jim. The best place in the world...especially with a camera in hand.
DeleteSo many great photos.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteNice composition, I like them.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteMartha, I love your ferret, I used to have one a long time ago and your cat is precious.
ReplyDeleteI loved all of the shots, though.
Thanks, Margie. Ferrets are really sweet pets, aren't they? So gentle, and such clowns!
DeleteBeautiful pictures! That horse is absolutely gorgeous. And so are your pets! You have a ferret?? Lucky you!!
ReplyDeleteWe used to have two ferrets, but one of them died. They are really sweet and adorable creatures. And a handful! Hahaha... Always getting into trouble.
DeleteThe coloured sticks grabbed me right away!
ReplyDeleteYour kitty is perfect.
The ferret is all new for me.
Great display of your world today, Martha!
Thanks!
Ron
Thanks, Ron. Those popsicle sticks were fun to photograph. I've been experimenting with light; natural and otherwise, trying to get more and more familiar with it, and photographing bold objects to see the results. Lots of fun!
DeleteI love your photos... so random and interesting. Must say I love most the fuzzy coat on the horse and the beautiful face of your kitty Mocha (reminds me of my Ginny) and the bright flowers with the bees... Oh for spring to get here soon... that being said we had 2 inches of snow last night! Welcome Spring!!
ReplyDeleteOh no...not more snow! Let's hope it's the last of it. Winter just doesn't want to go away!
DeletePics are simply breathtaking! I would have loved to have been a professional photographer. It's a wonderful career, and by your photos, hobby, too. Cheers!!
ReplyDeletePhotography is fun no matter which way you go with it, professional or hobby. It certainly keeps me happy!
DeleteGORGEOUS photos! Love them all; if I had to pick, the horse photograph would be my favorite, but like I said, I love them all :) So glad I stopped by. Blessings, Diana
ReplyDeleteBTW, I posted this post to my fb page :) https://www.facebook.com/adirondackgirlatheart

DeleteThank you, Diana! You are very kind. And I saw the post on your Facebook page; thank you very much for that! I'm very glad you stopped by, too, and I hope to see you here again. I'll have to check out your blog.
