Chuckles and Chortles

And here we are again, everyone. I hope you all had a lovely weekend. We got out and about, and did quite a bit of walking since Friday evening. On Saturday I picked myself up a pedometer to start keeping track and it registered almost 4500 steps on our downtown stroll yesterday afternoon. It sounds like a lot, but it isn’t that much for someone like me who can spend hours pounding the pavement. Even so, those steps included quite a few photos similar to this one:

One of the back alleys in Kingston.

I’ve joined a group on Facebook run by my photography teacher, and every two weeks a new challenge is announced, which encourages you to get out and snap photos to upload (up to 5 per challenge) to the page. This is a great way to be active in photography and explore the city at the same time. The present challenge is ‘Behind the Scenes’, which involves alleys, backstreets and backsides. Thus the photo.

Well that’s some of my news. Shall we move onto some humour? Let’s do it...

Wishing you all a fabulous Monday!

    1. Thanks, Francie. It'll be awhile yet before I launch yet. So many photos to sort through, and so many I need to take. Perhaps it'll be next winter's project!

    1. That's the 'Earth To Spirit Fair Trade Company'. What is it? Well, this is going to read like a brochure because I copied it from one:

Earth to Spirit: For over two decades, this spacious shop has been selling fair-trade
products — items sourced from eco-conscious, worker-friendly suppliers in developing
countries. Today, you can choose from Zimbabwean sculpture, textiles from several African countries, Japanese and Chinese ceramics, Native American jewellery, world music CDs, progressive-leaning books, and much more.

      A very cool place!

Here is a link to its website: Earth to Spirit

    1. I've joined a few, but this is the one that I'm completely active in. On the others you can post old photos, but on this one they have to fall within the period of the challenge. So you have to make an effort to get out there and shoot!

  10. I should use my pedometer again. I'll have to get some carrot to get me to use it. I always like the cartoons.

    1. I haven't used a pedometer in years, Red, but I'm happy to be doing it again. I want to keep track this summer of how much walking I'll be doing.

  14. Oh how I love the photo, really is Kingston a good place to live? do they have nice apts? it looks so beautiful from where I'm sitting, don't worry I'm a hermit just a small quiet place where I can walk and not inhale all the traffic and all the people, and of course I always look forward to the chuckles I get....I know no matter where you go, there you are, but to be in a place where I can hear the wind and the trees and the birds instead of traffic and screaming and loud music, sounds like heaven to me

    1. Lorraine, I love Kingston, and I think it's an amazing place to live! And because it's a much smaller city, it is automatically quieter, yet offers everything that a big city does...minus the traffic and fast pace!
