One Word That Describes You

Ever had an assignment in school where you were asked to list three or five words that describe you? Or gone on a job interview where you were asked to do the same? You really have to give that some thought, right? But eventually you come up with a few.

Well, what if you had to choose only one word? What would it be? I was thinking about this the other day, and found it really difficult to settle on only one word. There are so many that apply to me. But settle on one I will. And it is this: observant. Particularly with people. I can usually get a good idea about what someone is all about through their words, body language, eye contact and so on. Even upon first meeting them. I can even detect bullshit from a mile away, which I consider a superpower.

*snicker*

What one word describes you?

  1. I always pick "crunchy" as my word. Keeps 'em guessing!

  2. What a great exercise! I think I came up with Ox. I push on through all things good and bad. I have strength within that surprises me. I am stubborn and have a strong will but it can be tamed and directed. I can live simply. One other word would be "believer". Thanks for the great post!

  3. My word would be impulsive. I tend to do things on a whim, but I rarely regret it.

  4. Hi Martha,
Observant is a good word to describe you.
LOL at detecting bullshit a mile way.
I am very much a 'people watcher' so I could use that word to describe myself as well but I think the word that best describes me is 'encouraging' as I always try mt best to lift people up.
I think I got that trait fro my mom as she was truly one of the most encouraging people I have ever known.

    Great post !

  6. Hey Martha,
Since you are so observant, why don't YOU tell me the one word that would describe me?
Uh oh, that word might be "CHEEKY"! HA HA!!

  9. Well observant is a good word to describe you, Martha - definitely a superpower! I think I need to design a costume for you. :) Can't think of one word to describe myself seeing as Debra has taken crunchy- of maybe 'free'. I am finally free enough to express myself honestly!!

    1. Hahaha...a superhero costume with a big O in the front. Maybe some super spectacles to go with it.

Free is a great word! And many of us certainly become more and more that way as we get older. That's a good feeling.

  10. I see your observant nature in your photos. :-)

I think "curiosity" describes me. Always wanting to know more and learn.
