Chuckles and Chortles

Happy Monday, everyone, and happy summer! I hope the weekend was good to you. The most amazing man in the world and I spent the day in Quebec on Saturday. A very good friend of his was having a get-together for his 50th birthday, and he really wanted to attend. I had intended to go initially, but in the end chose instead to spend the day with my daughter and her boyfriend who live about a half hour away from where the party was. I don’t see my older daughter enough and I just couldn't pass up this opportunity. It was a wonderful visit, and I even got to meet the kitten that they are fostering.

If I didn't already have two cats, I would have taken this sweetie home.

I spent yesterday afternoon relaxing, and in the evening, hubby and I went for a long stroll at Lake Ontario Park; one of the most beautiful areas in the city. The weather was spectacular, and we could have kept on walking all night long.

I never get tired of walking through this area. It is very scenic and wonderfully relaxing.

And now here we are with a brand new week ahead of us. Let’s start it off right by tickling the funny bone...

Have a beautiful day, everyone!

    1. She is a gorgeous kitty, and so friendly, too. My daughter is not going to keep her. They already have two cats. She and her boyfriend foster cats that are looking to be adopted, and then say good-bye when the time comes. It isn't easy, but the cats have a happy and safe place until they find their 'furever' homes.

  7. I'm glad that you had a nice visit with your daughter, Martha! And what a sweet kitty! I'd have been begging to take her home. Unfortunately Terry doesn't like living with cats. :( So I have to get my cat fixes wherever I can! Take care!

    1. She is an amazing little cat. If I could, I would definitely have taken her home. My daughter really adores her, but she'll have to say good-bye at one point. It won't be easy, but I love that my daughter is kind like this and involved in charities.

    1. It was terrific to see her. She doesn't live that close, so it doesn't happen often enough :(

That kitty is adorable. And very social, too. I've no doubt she'll get adopted soon enough.

Your break sounds wonderful. Glad you got to catch up with your daughter and her cute kitty. Shame you couldn't take it home with you :)

    1. What I wouldn't have given to take that kitty home with me, Wendy. I just feel in love with her. But we already have two, and we just can't take on another.

I wish you a nice week, Wendy, and I hope some of the grief you are experienced has lessened...even just a bit. It takes time...

    Be well, Martha.

  13. Sounds like you had a great weekend. Very cool. It is now raining here, that good slow rain. I am sitting in the dark Lemon Tart Room with our Nook. Been up since three and I could soooooo fall asleep, and it just turned seven, here.

    Happy Summer and boogie boogie.

    1. It was a nice weekend, and the weather was amazing. Yesterday, too. Today we had rain, which is a good thing. My rain barrel will be nice and full now. Plus, a break from the garden to do indoor stuff, and catch up on other things is always a good thing.

I've had days like that when I get up in the middle of the night and can't get back to sleep. I hope you caught up on some sleep later on. Maybe a power nap? Or early to bed last night.

    2. I think I caught myself napping at one point, but overall, went
to bed at a normal time. Very cool that your barrels are full.

I'm waiting for Tim to get home. He's running late. His night
to cook. Veggie pizza for me, meat for him. Carrot cupcakes
for both. Although, I ate two. One out of the oven, you know,
just to be sure. And then one about 30 minutes ago. You know,
      just to be sure again.

Happy movie night to you and your honey bunny.

    1. They sure would be wonderful, Jim. I'd keep the mega sized bottle of laughter pills around here!

Lake Ontario is great to be near. We don't have the ocean like you do, but there are plenty of bodies of water to keep people like me happy.
