So here I go with another new theme for my blog titled “It’s The Little Things”, which will be all about things that bring me joy. Simple things. Because that’s truly what makes life pretty awesome, no?
The tone of this theme will vary. Sometimes it’ll be serious, sometimes it’ll be funny. It all depends on the topic.
And I’m going to kick-start it with the greatest and most spectacular fruit on earth: watermelon.
I love love LOVE watermelon. It’s filling, naturally sweet, and the most refreshing treat on a hot summer day.
I can live on this fruit. Together with pizza and ice cream and peanut M&Ms. And maybe a slice or two of cheesecake.
Watermelon next to cheesecake. OHMYGOD...yes...
How about you? Do you like eating fruit? What kind?
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
I pretty much like all fruit, in every sense of that word!
ReplyDeleteHahaha...I've no doubt about that, Debra :)
DeleteYep, I love watermelon too. And cherries (they're ripe now and sooo good), blueberries, strawberries, peaches....I love this time of year when all the fruit is ripe.
ReplyDeleteMe, too. My favourite time of the year for fruit. I love all kinds, but if I could only have one, this would be it.
DeleteApples and bananas are standards for me, but I also love watermelon, cantelope and berries.
ReplyDeleteThey're all good, Robyn, but this time of year is especially terrific for fruit!
DeleteBig honkin' watermelon fans here as well. Although, as I type,
ReplyDeletethere are four Cinnamon Apple Hand-Pies baking.
Mmmmm ....
OHMYGOSH...good stuff always baking at your place. Bet the place smell awesome!
DeleteFunny you should say that about smells. Yesterday the rain hit
Deletepretty hard. Both dogs were outside. Hubby went to get dogs.
Everyone back in and the house smelled of wet dog and husband.
Not so good. But in general, we've always got a bake on. Though
today might just be leftover bagels, as I'm off to the markets soon.
Have a groovy new week!
Hahaha...yes, wet dog and husband! Not something they'll be selling in the spice section of the market :) But at least you got both of them, which is a good thing. So there's always a good side to everything.
DeleteLove watermelon too. And grapes - Feijoa's - blueberries - strawberries - apples - golden peaches ... you get the gist :)
ReplyDeleteI do! You are just like me... Love, love, love fruit!
DeleteHAHAaaaa you had ONE job… one… that's hilarious
ReplyDeleteI grew up in a family where watermelon was in our house at all times during the summer … iced down ~ good and old and juicy and red ~ we grew them.
Yes… I eat fruit every day…. right now? Adelle has to take ONE bite of something different each day. Today? a bite of orange. She's four. Her Mother lets her eat whatever … while she is with us this summer… I am bound and determined to get her to branch out and eat stuff besides pizza, chocolate milk and spaghetti. !!!
It has been three hours and we're still waiting for her to eat ONE bite of an orange.
have mercy! Charlie eats it all… bananas, cantaloupe, watermelon, honey dew melon, apples, oranges, grapes … but Adelle? man oh man!
I keep telling myself … I am bigger! I am stronger! I am Gramma! !!
love cheesecake and ice cream and M&Ms .. peanut or otherwise. pie… sigh
Hahaha...you make me smile, Carolyn. You make be bigger and stronger and hold the title of Gramma, but those little people can stand their ground quite well! Hahaha... I do think it's a wonderful idea to get her to try something new every day. One bite. How hard can that be? And yet...oh those munchkins...determined to do things their way. I hope that Adelle does branch with her eating habits while she spends this time with you. It would be a great thing. And Charlie is already on the right track. That is great that he's eating everything!
DeleteALL fruit! All the fresh fruits and vegetables this time of year is my favorite thing about summer.
ReplyDeleteYup, me, too. A much better selection when summer is around!
DeleteAh yes, to marvel at the little things in life. Time to slow down and savour. I love watermelon. I adore strawberries.
ReplyDeleteHave a peaceful, positive weekend.
Gary :)
So many great fruits to choose from, right? Especially this time of year!
DeleteI hope you are enjoying a wonderful weekend, Gary!
People keep asking these questions for one answer. I can't do that. I like many fruits and would find it hard to choose one. if you ask me tomorrow the answer would be different.
ReplyDeleteBut no top pick, Red? What if you could only eat one for the rest of your life...what would you settle for?
DeleteI'm not big on watermelon, but I love pineapple
ReplyDeletePineapple is good, too, although a little too sweet at times!
DeleteI love most fruit including watermelon!
ReplyDeleteMe, too! Best type of sweet stuff.
DeleteWater Melon is the most important fruit to beat the hot and humid summer in India. My favorite fruit is Mango (lots of calories) and lychee!
ReplyDeleteUnbelievably enough, I didn't discover Mango until just a few years ago. And I love it! I can't believe it took so long to try it.
DeleteBerries, Strawberry, Rasberries blueberries, wild berries, any berries...lol and orange bananas kiwis watermelon when it's supper hot cause it drips all over me....cheese cake of any kind....ok I'm getting hungry, thank God I have Blueberries, cherries and bananas ;) Have a great weekend gorgeous
ReplyDeleteWe're the same, Lorraine, both crazy fruit lovers! I enjoy it with meals, too. It's not surprising around here to see me loading up my plate with fruit instead of potatoes or rice. I hope you are enjoying the weekend, Lorraine.
DeleteHahahah - I loved the pineapple cartoon! Happy week-end, Martha!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend to you, too, Francie. Can you believe that someone would mix up pineapple and watermelon?
DeleteLike that one about shooting blanks.
ReplyDeleteYes, it's very funny!
DeleteCherries! Oh my goodness they are my weakness... I can't stop eating these! I'm not one for watermelon but still enjoy the freshness of it. Take care xx
ReplyDeleteI love cherries, too! They are fabulous, but often so expensive around here.
DeleteI am a huge watermelon fan too, Martha. I like bringing some to work for dessert. It's so sweet and refreshing.
ReplyDeleteBest fruit in the world! I love this time of year when there's so much available at the market. I'd grow my own if I could!
