Chuckles and Chortles

Happy Monday! How did the weekend go? Did you get out? We headed downtown Friday evening to catch a show at the Buskers Festival (I’ll share photos later on), and enjoyed a modern circus performance by a young married couple. Here is the wife with her hula hoop antics:

And did you see the super moon on Saturday? We spent the evening in the neighbouring town of Gananoque, and parked ourselves by the St. Lawrence River when it started getting dark to wait for the moon to rise. And what did we see? Nothing. It was too cloudy. [insert sad face] Well, maybe next time...

But we did get a chance to visit with the swans at the Gananoque river while we were there. We hadn’t seen them since last summer. Here I am catching up with them, and taking photos.

And here is one of them asking to see the photo I just took. What...? Don’t animals talk to you?

Can we finally get to the funny stuff, you ask? Alright, alright...

Have a great day, everyone!

  1. Good Morning Miss Martha. Hope you have a killer good week. Foggy, foggy, foggy here, but that's okay, because I don't have to go anywhere. Ah .... heaven.

    Cheers and boogie boogie.

    1. So far, so good, Wonder Woman! This week seems to be going well. The weather is really nice. Not too hot. I love that! And we've gotten some rain at times, which is great for the garden.

Cheers and boogie boogie to you, too!

    1. I'm hoping to catch the next one, which is on August 9th (I think). Or 10th. I'll check. We had a couple of nights of a beautiful moon, but I really wanted to get the super moon!

    1. I bet they do talk to you, Carolyn, since you love them so much! I love these swans, and look forward to seeing them each summer. I move closer and closer to them, very slowly, and then park myself and take photos. They don't mind since I'm so quiet near them. It just makes my day, I tell you!

  4. I could not see the moon itself, but I was in the woods, and I saw how bright it made everything. Too bad you had clouds!

    1. Those clouds were a real bummer, but there are two more super moons coming up. I'm hoping I get to see at least one.

  6. oh also I bought a hula hoop it's shinning it has colours sparkling when it moves i keep on trying it was always so easy i thought it would be the best exercise when living in an apt, I tried to swing really well but it keeps on falling down and making noises, I gotta practice, how did we ever manage to keep it at waist length for a long time before it dropped...oh man!

    1. But it sounds like fun! I haven't tried a hula hoop in years, and I wonder if I could even keep it up anymore. It would be fun to try. When we were kids all these things seemed to easy!

  10. No moon for us either, Martha! I've been enjoying your photos especially the lovely horses and those freak-me-out mosquitoes. Definitely cats rule! The dog bed antics had me laughing really hard! Funny chuckles ~ especially the shower curtain one. I still can't get comfortable showering in a motel! Have a happy week!

    1. Thanks, Louise! I'm glad you enjoy my posts, and happy to see you stopping by. Yes, cats seem to rule sometimes, but I bet some dogs wouldn't put up with that!
