It’s The Little Things: Horses

How can you not be grateful for a world with strong, graceful and beautiful horses in it?

I sure am.

Have a beautiful Wednesday, everyone!

  1. Those are beautiful horses. They also appear to be friends. Horses are herd animals so should never be kept alone. Fine photo.

    1. I didn't know that about them until a couple of years ago when I started taking lots of photos. Now, when I see a horse alone, I find it really sad.

  2. Is there anything softer than a horse's muzzle?

  3. I love horses, always have but the first-time i went horse-back riding, i didn't want to kick the horse he was so pretty, anyhoo someone else kicked him must have been hard 'cause he took off like the wind if i had horseback riding experience it would have been a thrill but since i didn't I fell off the horse, foot stuck and stirrup and can you say : fracture-skull not the horses fault but the ass who kicked him too hard,,..still my first words out of the coma was how's the horse? why do I have the feeling i've shared this with you before...hmm have a great day Martha!

    1. Wow, that's a horrible experience! Thank goodness you were alright. Yes, what a stupid thing to do, especially since you were a beginner!

    1. I wish I knew them better, too, Jim, but I've been a city girl my whole life and have only known them from a distance. And now, through my camera lens. I do love them, though.

  7. So true! There is a horse that lives down the road from us, and whenever I pass him on a walk I always wave and get the biggest smile on my face. Always brightens my day to see him.

    1. I feel the same way when I see them, Jen. And some of them are so friendly that they run right over when I stand near the fence. So sweet!

  11. Hello Martha girl !.. I know this will read strange ... but I love the smell of horses too.
It has been such a long time since I have ridden one but you never forget how that feels to have such a powerful animal allow you to ride it.
    Gorgeous photo girl !

    1. That is a great feeling, Joy. I've been on a horse only a couple of times in my life, and for very short periods. But even that little time was amazing.

    1. It's also opportunity. Before I moved here, I barely ever got a chance to see a horse. I see them often here because we drive through the rural areas regularly.

We have many beautiful horses around here too.
