(School, museum, building, street, library, park, statue, conservation area, etc...)
When this question came to mind, I thought it would be tough to answer, but it’s actually quite easy.
More than anything, I love being near the water, so a park by the lake (or any body of water) would be the ideal choice. Not that anything will be named after little old me when I exit this world, but that’s my choice.
Enjoying a sunset at Crerar Park, which is 2.21 acres of green space with a playground. |
What would you choose to be named after you?
The Demise of Google: Freedom, that's what I'd really like to be known for...'cause they don't give you a choice if you signed in when the new blogger was proposed with all kinds of new gadgets with PICASA3 I jumped like an athlete...they lied it just meant you were now under Google's thumb and i you don't agree to share what you post they put a nice oval thingy with a black mark in the middle, for example Jan does not want to share and who blames go see what they to her blogSo I have commented on Google I can't wait to see just how long my photos will stay, they had no freedom to not give ppeople a choice as to whether the wanted to share or not, it's simple you don't share , everything is taken off... well I'm taking them on, i still have an Aminus3account if I'M NOT MISTAKEN, or i may try the new free Wordpress, ain' t much but hey you know where they can stick their rules, for me I don't care it's just photos, but some people have blogs where they talk and they don't want to share it, or their world or families...Google to me is an affront to Liberty and I'm calling them on it...
ReplyDeleteThere are so many complaints about Google lately. Maybe it's just too big, and people are getting tired of it.
DeleteA variety of Anthurium, obviously.
ReplyDeleteAnd why not? That's a great choice.
DeleteI don't like stuff named after me. Even if I were to own my own bake shoppe, it most likely not have my first name in the title.
ReplyDeleteAfter we're dead, it won't really matter! LOL...
DeleteDon't think I want anything named after me as it would mean I was dead. Don't think many buildings or monuments are named after living people. Beside, how attracted would you be to a building named, "Taken For Granted"?
ReplyDeleteUnless it was a foundation that collected funds to offer grants to worthy causes. Get it?
DeleteThe way I figure it is that once we're dead and gone, we won't care one way or another.
DeleteI like Cassandra's answer!
This is too far flung for me to consider...hmm. It's sort of like, how would you want to be remembered? What's your greatest accomplishment. Hmm. Maybe some kind of flower garden could be named after me.
ReplyDeleteThat would be a lovely choice, Christine. Yes, it is hard to choose.
DeleteI wouldn't like anything named after me, unless it was some kind of animal rescue centre. That, I would be proud of. Well, I would be proud if I were alive to see it ... if you know what I mean?
ReplyDeleteThat is a wonderful choice, Wendy! I'd pick that if I won a ton of money in a lottery. I'd open a bank account for animal charities, invest the money, and keep on donating.
DeleteI think it might be a garden as I so love my flower garden and spend a lot of time there.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely choice, Margie!
DeleteI think I'd like a lovely public labyrinth to be named after me. Pagan Cretan style, of course.
ReplyDeleteThat would be the coolest thing. I'd hang out there every lovely spring day.
DeleteWell, I'm not after having something being named after me. However, they could name a street after me if they want!
ReplyDeleteYou just never know. Maybe you'll do something that will make you famous one day!
DeleteI would choose a library. It's probably my favorite type of place other than my home. :-)
ReplyDeleteWonderful choice, Tina!
DeleteI'd choose a school, though my name would lose meaning. Only briefly mentioned by the school staff maybe once a year at most.
ReplyDeleteBut it would be the school's name, so that's pretty good.
DeleteI would say either a nebula or a conservation area, if we're going with tangible things. Intangibly, I would want a law or advocacy movement named after me in the vein of victim's rights, disability/chronic illness awareness and rights.
ReplyDeleteAll great choices, Cassandra!
DeleteWould it be greedy if I say that I want my own constellation? Or my own wilderness area? How about my own country? Yeah, I guess that's pretty egotistical, haha!
ReplyDeleteGood thing I'm content being a nobody!!!!
Hahahaha! You made me smile, Liza. I'm part of the nobody club, too, and I like it that way :)
DeleteA park bench or the library would be good choices for me. :)
