Chuckles and Chortles

Happy Monday, bloggy pals. How was the weekend? Good, I hope. Ours was really nice, and we spent most of it on our bikes. Saturday evening we cycled for a few hours around our city, got a lot of exercise and took plenty of pictures. Even selfies. Ever since I discovered that one of my cameras takes self-portraits, we’ve been snapping photos of ourselves wherever we go, most of which are silly. Because it’s impossible for two goofballs to be serious for long. We’d self combust.

Here’s one of our wacky moments:

We refuse to grow up. Refuse!

And yesterday we felt like a road trip, so we threw our bikes and ourselves in the car and headed over to Peterborough; a lovely small city about the size of Kingston that is less than two hours away. We spent the entire day there riding around, exploring and photographing. It was loads of fun, and the weather was 'fantabulous'!

This photo was taken as the sun began to set while standing on the train bridge that runs across the Otonabee River.

And today, it’s back to the routine. But first, let’s laugh a little...

Have a wonderful week ahead!

  2. Love your selfie! Glad you had a great time in Peterborough. I've only been once but it was lovely when I visited. Ontario is beautiful - lots to explore! :)

    1. It's our second visit, and this time was a lot more fun because we covered so much of the area by being on bikes. The weather was nice, too, so that certainly helped. I LOVE Ontario. So much to see and do.

    1. That's our plan, Christine. As long as we have a nice fall, we're planning on doing that. We'll get to see some really beautiful sights with the leaves changing, and all that. Fingers crossed for a gorgeous upcoming season!

  4. Good for you both for embracing your silliness - I'd combust too if I had to suppress it! The "start chugging" sign made me laugh. Have a great Monday!

    1. Yup, artists, mechanics, and whoever else gets their hands really dirty! This always happens to me when I'm cooking and my hands are a mess!

  8. Ha ha! We have two cats and they love to be on our bed. Very little room for the humans who actually bought the bed.

    1. It's funny but ours don't sleep on our bed. They may cuddle up with me if I take a nap, or lie down at the foot of the bed in the morning waiting for me to get up, but they don't sleep on our bed at any other time, particularly during the night when we're there. They'll sleep anywhere else in the house, but never on our bed. Very strange.

    1. Well, it's certainly done us some good. Our rides are simple, so they're not too strenuous, but we do get a great deal of exercise.

  14. These made me laugh out loud--thank you! Your biking adventures sound so fun. It is time for me and my hubby to get ours out (dust them off, put air in the tires) and hit the road!

    1. You should do it, Tina. We had to dust them off, too, since we hadn't used our bikes for awhile, but I'm so glad we did. It's been a great summer because of it.

  16. Ahahahahahaaaaaaaaa... I love these! The Fedex one is my favourite -- I didn't know that was a worldwide phenomenon lol! You two look soo adorable -- I refuse to grow up too! Trust you are doing super dear friend -- I'm not familiar with horseflies (thankfully), but perhaps you might one day want to try this: Tiger Balm white ointment. It has definitely helped with the sandfly bites. A bit.

    1. Yup, definitely a worldwide phenomenon! We've had packages dumped outside our door. It's really upsetting!

We will never EVER grow up...LOL... The body will get old but we'll still act goofy!

I will give the Tiger Balm a try. It sounds really good. And since we're out so often, this is exactly what I need.
