Interesting Sightings

“Photographers are violent people. First they frame you, then they shoot you, then they hang you on the wall.”

Some of my best outings are those that include interesting, unusual, fascinating and even amusing sightings that I can photograph. Like the ones below...

A determined little plant pushes its way through rocks and shells at the beach.

Covered in spider webs. Creepy...

Behind a bench at a bus stop with no garbage can nearby. Notice that it's mostly Tim Horton's coffee cups?

The reflection of buildings on another building's glass windows.

The making of a horror film. Super creepy.

A disgruntled shopper?

Yeah, big friggin' deal.

Baseball caps are useful in many ways.

Make it a great day, everyone!

  2. Oh those Tim Horton's cups! I suppose it is good they weren't on the ground - at least part of the message is getting through! Interesting photos, Martha!

    1. Not one cup or bottle on the ground, Francie! It wouldn't surprise me if people were trying to be neat. There should be a garbage can placed near this bus station. It's surprising there isn't one already.

  3. The Zellers cart in the pond made me think of the Trailer Park Boys. One of Bubbles' scams was to steal grocery carts, dump them wherever, and then get himself hired by the grocery store to go around picking them up. I suspect something similar here, LOL!

    1. Hahaha! That is funny. I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case since I've seen a few grocery carts tossed like that.

  4. Wow, can't believe the cups in the bench. That is both disturbing and kind of cool at the same time. I always take my cups home, because the bottom part goes into the city compost and the lid goes into the plastic box. All those cups could be turned into compost. The beach photo is my fav, it reminds me that I have not been to enough beaches this summer.

    1. I was stunned when I saw all those cups! Goes to show how popular Tim Hortons is. At least the ground wasn't littered with them.

  7. Wow, on the cuppas. That's a lot. But at least they are neatly placed. Which is funny.

    1. I know, right? It's as if people were really trying to avoid littering the ground. I guess that's a good thing.

  8. The building photo is amazing-- what a perspective! But you had so many creepy photos today! lol. It seems as though the bugs, the webs, and the half submerged cart are all snapshots from the same narrative, just without context.

I would never have thought to stick my empty cup or can behind the bench like that. Huh.

    1. I wouldn't have thought of doing that either, but I guess it's better to stick the cup behind the bench than toss it on the ground.
