Sunny Side Up

“Humor is by far the most significant activity of the human brain.”
- Edward de Bono -

So here we are wrapping up another blogging week. And I’d like to end this one with a ‘Sunny Side Up’ post. It’s been a while since I’ve used this theme, and for those of you who are newer followers and have no idea what it is, let me explain:

'Sunny Side Up' is a short and sweet, fun-filled and/or uplifting, feel good post. It comes in the form of a video, a photograph, a silly saying, a cartoon, a link to something cool, a happy story, a quotation, a poem...any which way. But whatever form it comes in, one thing’s for sure...it will (hopefully) kick start your weekend with a smile.

Okay? Let’s move on...

Rejoice chocoholics! Today is National Chocolate Milkshake Day. Blend together some milk, chocolate ice cream, and whatever else makes you happy, top it off with a dollop of whipped cream if you’d like, and then...bottoms up!

And so much crap in the news all the time, no? Humans against humans against humans. What the heck is that all about? Why can’t we all just get along? Perhaps we can learn something from these animals:

That sure put a smile on my face. I hope it did the same for you! And hey, be nice to each other, okay? DO IT. Don’t make me come there...

A happy weekend to all!

    1. Best kind of holiday! I'm a vanilla milkshake girl, myself, so I cheat a little :)

  2. For some reasons that I'm not entirely sure of, chocolate milk always makes me sick. Yet I keep drinking it, because it's delicious and the things we really love are the ones that hurt us the most.

  3. When my mom was in palliative care we took her and my dad's dog to our house. My dad was spending long days and nights at the hospital so "Eddie", their enormous chocolate Lab came to stay and I thought for sure Norbert was going to freak. He didn't! Norbert loved Eddie. Eddie would nuzzle Norbert with his big slobbery mouth. He would flip Norbert around and they became the best of friends. I will add that Norbert has never liked another animal since but it was still amazing to see.

    1. I bet there is a soft side to Norbert. He just doesn't want anyone to know. Because then people would have expectations from him. And it would take away from naptime :)

  4. I love the kitten riding on the tortoise! And it's National Chocolate Milkshake Day? Now I know what I'm having for lunch!

  5. I surprised that squirrel was so friendly to the dog. They usually run away from anything that's not a squirrel

    1. I know! I wonder if that squirrel was taken in as a baby and has gotten used to being around the dog.

    Not that I did that much work this week, but ya know, still. For those who did.

    1. I always enjoy animal videos, especially these types. My week was half busy/half not. Today is a lazy day. Rainy and cold outside, so we'll just lounge around!

    2. Is it cold there too? Cold here this weekend but it's very nice also. We hit Barnes last night and that was fun, but it took me awhile to get going because the house was so clean and snuggly.

    3. I actually sent a response through email by mistake, so you probably never got it! This is what I had answered:

      ======================

      It sure is! We had to put the heating on for a bit yesterday to remove the chill from the house. Yesterday was lousy. Windy, rainy, cold... But today it's beautiful. A little chilly but sunny. We're taking off to go biking in 3, 2, 1...

      Sounds like a funny evening yesterday. We stayed put. Wimped out because of the horrible weather. But today, nothing is holding us back. Gotta get out while we can. There'll be so many days in the winter to cozy up at home.

      Hope your day is going great!

      ======================

      I've never done that before. I always reply here. Must be the cold...froze my brain...hahaha

    4. I sometimes do just email replies, other times the blog and sometimes both. Just depends. Understandable about the heat. I very nearly gave the place a blast this morning. By gosh, but it was cold. I wasn't outside so I don't know if it was frost or not.

      Cinnamon raisin bread is ready for breakfast. YUM.

      Wish I could send you a piece.

    5. Cinnamon raisin bread! OHMYGOSH... And I bet your place smells wonderful when you bake delicious stuff. It would awesome if we were able to email things like that, wouldn't it? Or if we could just reach through the screen for them.

  18. Loved this video, Martha! But then your posts usually make me smile. I loved the one about your garden basil and your dad. I miss mine with an ache always. Kuddos to you for living pretty much in the present. I tend to range throughout time,
    often in the present, but remembering the past and looking to the future to. Regrets ~ not too many. I often think of the Maya Angelou quote, "I did then what I knew how to do. Now that I know better, I do better.” I haven't had pancakes in forever. Yours sounded devine! Have a happy week.
