You're Too Old For Trick Or Treating If...
- you get winded from knocking on the door.
- you lose your balance and fall over when someone drops a candy bar in your bag.
- people say, "Great Keith Richards mask!" and you're not wearing a mask.
- you're the only super hero in the neighborhood with a walker.
- you have a bag full of restraining orders by the end of the night.
Looks like you’ll be staying home tonight, huh? Aw, now you feel bad. Here, have a mini cupcake. I made a whole bunch of them to send to school with my daughter today.

Now that you’re feeling much better, I have a another treat for you! You know the 1962 “Monster Mash” novelty song by Bobby “Boris” Pickett? The one that was released that year just before Halloween and has been a perennial favourite ever since?
Well, what would happen if no one came to the monster mash? Find out in the hilarious parody tune below. If you’re going to watch only one video today, make it this one...
Wishing you all a spooktacular weekend!
Amazing muffins, so colourful. Have a Happy Halloween!
ReplyDeleteI hope it was a good one for you. Happy November!
DeleteHappy Halloween
ReplyDeleteI hope you had fun, Adam!
DeleteI must hear the Monster Mash as much as possible this Halloween. Thank you, Martha.
ReplyDeleteHave a delicious and safe Hallow's Eve. xo
Halloween just wouldn't be the same without Monster Mash, but this year I discovered this parody that is equally as fun!
DeletePoor Drac. What a bummer for him.
ReplyDeleteJust finished eating and got back from the vet. All good with the girls so far. Woohoo. And only 150 bucks for both dogs, shots, new tags and medicine. Compared to our old vet, this new vet is wonderful in pricing and they did a great job.
Poor Wiggy made a mess of the doctor's shoes. She's the nervous one.
Okay, have a spooky wonderful and hopefully stormy Halloween. Unless you want sunshine, which some do. Off to do a few chores.
Thanks for the great wishes and Happy Halloween Weekend.
That's great news about the girls. And that vet bill is pretty reasonable. They can be ridiculously overpriced sometimes!
DeleteThe weather yesterday evening was not that great. Cold and damp, and then a little rain hit. I feel bad for the kids 'cause Halloween only comes once a year.
And vaccines. Our last vet would have charged SOOOO much more.
DeleteI don't feel bad for the kids if it rains. But then, when I was a kid, I wanted it to rain on Halloween, back then too. Dark and stormy, all the better.
Funny! Love your cupcakes too. I just had foot surgery yesterday (bunion removal) so I'll be spending Halloween on the couch with my foot up. My hubby is in charge of the trick or treaters.
ReplyDeleteOh, that's too bad! I hope you heal quickly!
DeleteHappy Halloween, Martha!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI hope it was a good one for you!
DeleteWOW Girl, you're the best mom ever (mine is in heaven or she'd be first)
ReplyDeleteAll that you do makes you wonder woman but not like the mask awwwwwwthat was scary love the monster mash party my kind of party when no one shows up, well I live in an apt so not little boys or girls to knock on my dear, but a bought a few caramilk just for me if I can, sore throat is really a bummer, You are the best , have a ball x
Good for you, Lorraine! Treat yourself to something sweet; you deserve it. I LOVE caramilk; one of the few sweets I enjoy. And I hope your sore throat goes away!
DeleteOh, poor Drac! He only throws one party a year and THIS happens, sheesh.
ReplyDeleteI know, right? The poor bastard...
Deleteohhhhh great Keith Richards mask.. it is amazing! that boy is still alive and kicking … LOVE the cupcakes!
ReplyDeleteMonster Mash was released in 1962… no kidding … the year after I graduated high school … WHAT a song … ha! like the parody … noooooo body came … aw
Keith Richards has surprised many who truly thought he'd never live this long. Just goes to show you.
DeleteI LOVE Monster Mash; such a great tune. And this parody is a new favourite!
I went trick or treater until I was 18 and we were harassed for it, LOL. We're worried we won't get trick or treaters in our new neighbourhood but we'll see.
ReplyDeleteI think the last time I went out was the age of 13 or 14, and we were asked quite often how old we were. At least we got some candy!
DeleteThere weren't too many kids out yesterday. The weather was pretty sucky.
- you're the only super hero in the neighborhood with a walker.
ReplyDelete- you have a bag full of restraining orders by the end of the night.
Hahahahaha! Love it :)
I know! I particularly love the restraining orders :)
DeleteBetter luck next year Count D!
ReplyDeleteMaybe his party will be more successful next year. Or maybe he'll invite better friends. :)
DeleteHi Martha! I'm just about to run upstairs and don my glow in the dark Halloween T-shirt and head to Parkway for drinks and dinner with the E-P.. But in typical fashion we'll probably be home by 7:00 p.m. LOL! Maybe I can talk him into a scary movie! Have a Happy Halloween!
ReplyDeleteA glow in the dark shirt! Love it :) I hope you had a great time. And did you get that scary movie going? We put one on last night and I almost fell asleep watching it. You can imagine that it wasn't the SCARIEST horror film I'd ever seen :)
DeleteHey! None of these apply to me! Wonder of wonders! I feel like going out trick or treating.
ReplyDeleteOf course they don't! And I hope you had a great time!
DeleteMy hubby and I are sharing trick or treat duties. I'm hiding in the basement with the cats right now, they freak out when they hear the doorbell! Love the cupcakes, yummm! Still get a kick out of the Monster Mash, great parody!
ReplyDeleteHappy Halloween!!
That's a great idea to take turns giving out treats. Nobody wants to do it around here save for me, so we haven't handed out treats in awhile. Maybe next year. I miss all the little witches and goblins coming around.
DeleteHappy Halloween Martha! It is a dark and gloomy night here - so had to get around with my walker, haha! Love the cupcakes!
ReplyDeleteHahaha! I hope you had a lovely time, Francie, walker or not :)
DeletePoor Drac. He cried himself to sleep. :(
ReplyDeleteThe cupcakes are gorgeous!
I know...ever monsters have feelings :)
