First World Pet Problem

"Dogs come when they're called; cats take a message and get back to you later. "
- Mary Bly-

This is our cat, Nacho. We sometimes refer to her as Nacho Cheese, The Cheese, or just Cheese. She responds to all the names.

She’s slightly neurotic. Is terrified of the vacuum. And takes a dump outside the litter box when you've taken too long to clean it out. To demonstrate her disapproval. And show you who's boss.

She spends about 90 percent of her day doing this:

And the rest of the time complaining about this:

She literally nags me to death if there is a hole in the bowl. Because a hole means no food. Which means starvation.

Even our pets have first world problems, don't they?

Below is a funny video to end the week with. It describes my cats completely. For those who haven’t seen it, do so. For those who have, it’s worth another look.

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone! And try not to complain about little things, okay?

  1. So funny about the hole. Back when I was a prep cook we made a round iron skillet brownie, that went on the dessert bar. The customers were the same way, if there was a hole in the middle, they stopped taking brownie.

    So weird.

    1. I know, right? There must be some strange psychology to that. I don't really care. Especially if it's something I really like. I'll scrape the sides if necessary! Hahaha...

    2. Oh yeah, it's weird. The girls would bring back the brownie and the kitchens would eat them. Such a silly thing, I dunno. Just weird.

    1. I know! They are spoiled rotten. If they were strays, they'd be licking the bowls!

  4. Do you sing "Nacho Nacho Cat" to her? (To the tune of that old Village People hit "Macho Macho Man" of course). I used to sing the "Meow Mix Song" to HRH all the time. She loved it! Or at least tolerated it, as cats do.

    1. Hahaha! Yes! Yes, I do! And I also sing "You are my cheese puff, my only cheese puff" (to the tune of "You are my sunshine"). Along with other wacky songs/sayings/. It's no wonder our cats have turned out so weird and neurotic!

    1. We have two, and I adore them both. They were both adopted from the local humane society, which makes them that much more special.

  6. Neat to meat Nacho! It is funny how some cats don't like to see the bottom of their bowl/ eat around the edges! Our indoor cat is pretty picky, but our 2 outdoor cats eat just about everything!

    1. Cats are funny like that; each one with its own personality. Each one with individual quirks!

  8. Hi human, Martha,

When Nacho can be bothered to crap in the kitty litter tray, have you noticed the end result looks like Ferrero Rocher?

Hey Nacho! Here, kitty, kitty, kitty......

    Pawsitive wishes,

    Penny :)

And as for the 'sad cat diary' ... hahaha! Positively made my day! Oh, and so true of the feline psyche. Such drama queens :)

    1. Hahahaha! Yes, definitely drama queens. And Nacho is totally one. But she's also sweet and utterly adorable. We love her, quirks and all!

  10. Our dog had always been a inside dog. We had to tie her outside once for a long time. She was so mad when she came back. When we called her name, she turned her head like a snooty human.

  11. Funny stuff. I'd argue in response to the quote that cats have their secretaries call you back later.
Hope you're enjoying the weekend, Martha. xo

    1. Sometimes blogger does that...just eats up a whole comment! Very frustrating.

Nacho is a real beauty. And her fur is truly shiny and beautiful. She's in good health.
