Does it bother you if different foods on your plate touch or overlap?
This question came to mind when the most amazing man in the world and I were putting together our dinner plates recently and I was once again reminded how differently we go about doing this.
He makes sure that there is a safe difference between each food item because under no circumstances must they touch. And I simply don’t care. Foods touch, overlap and spill over. My plate is always a holy mess.
How about you? Does it bother you if different foods on your plate touch or overlap?
I like to start my meal with the foods not touching or just barely touching. But during the meal if any of them taste like they should be mixed together, I'm willing to do that!
ReplyDeleteYou adapt as the meal goes on!
DeleteI don't care either, but interesting about your husband! I knew a man who would methodically cut each item on his plate, exact size pieces as he ate.
ReplyDeletePeople who particular ways of eating their food. It's all good!
DeleteThey're actually better if you mix them up!
ReplyDeleteDitto!
DeleteAgree :)
DeleteYup! Count me in!
DeleteIt's not a huge issue for me, but I must confess that I don't like to mix hot food and cold items -- like salad on the same plate as the turkey dinner, etc.
ReplyDeleteThat makes sense, but I'm guilty of that, too! One big heaping mess!
Deletethe more the merrier mix it up and smash it down lol good question sweetie, now that you mention it I' m hungry...hum what can I possibly put together?
ReplyDeleteThe more the merrier is right! And mix it up and mash it down is my eating motto...LOL... I hope you put together something tasty :)
DeleteI don't mind foods being mixed a little but I don't like hot and cold things on the same plate.
ReplyDeleteThat certainly makes sense!
DeleteHow positively hilarious!
ReplyDeleteTouching, hot, cold, warm, runny, firm, spilling over ... I couldn't care less ... provided it all stays on the plate!
I have far more important things to worry about :)
Hahaha! That certainly summed it up, Wendy. I am exactly the same way. My food begins to fuse together after awhile and you can't tell what's what :)
DeleteGreat question Martha! OK...when I serve food I like each group to be separate and seen clearly. Touching is fine but not mixing until served. Then, the eater can do whatever they want!!
ReplyDeleteUnless of course the meal is hash.
That sounds perfectly reasonable, Jim. A little appreciation for your hard work :) And after the appreciation is show, let loose! Hahaha...
DeleteDepends on what it is. I'll will refuse to eat anything that has touched any meat products, even a little bit.
ReplyDeleteWell that makes perfect sense, Adam, since you're a vegetarian.
DeleteNah! I love food too much!
ReplyDeleteGreat answer. Why waste time worrying about how it's laid out on your plate?
DeleteIt doesn't bother me if they touch and often, I'll mush 'em all up together anyway. Though I know two people who will only eat one food item at a time on their plate. They cannot mix at all. So funny how different people are. Me? Pile it on, baby, I'm hungry and I don't care what is touching what.
ReplyDeleteEveryone has their own way of enjoying their meal. It doesn't bother me one bit. As long as people are enjoying and have enough to eat. Personally, I'm like you, I just mix it all up. And sometimes certain things taste even better that way.
DeleteI can get more on a plate if they touch! And I like to eat! But I've known lots of people like your husband! Happy Friday tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteI like your way of thinking, Louise! Yes, you can get more food on the plate that way. That's particularly great during the holidays when there's so much good stuff to eat!
DeleteDoesn't bother me at all. Here in the country, we mix em' up all the time!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat way to enjoy your meal. Here in the city, we do the same :)
