...I end up crying. Particularly at the end. That’s where I sob like a baby. Every. Time.

Yes. Yes, I do. Like a baby. |
The first time I watched this movie, it was at the theater, and I swear there wasn’t a dry eye in there. Lots of sobbing and sniffling was going on, and lots of tissues were being passed around. We were all a mess. And when my husband and I watched this for the umpteenth time not too long ago, I swore I’d keep it together. I didn’t.
I’m such a sap.
Have you seen the movie? Do you get emotional when watching movies?
That’s all for this week, folks. Have a wonderful weekend!
Seriously? Haha you got a very gentle heart. I'll try watching it and see how I'll manage to hold up to tears. :)
ReplyDeleteI always cry in movies, TV shows, etc. I've been doing that since I was a very young child.
DeleteI remember watching it, but i can't remember my reaction. I've cried once over a book from Luanne Rice, called True Blue oh and yes the movie Philadelphia, with Tom Hanks, a lawyer who got AIDS...I cried
ReplyDeleteI know that movie! I watched it not too long ago. Very sad :(
DeleteMe too, Martha. In fact I can feel tears springing up in my eyes just thinking about it! Such a delightful film.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly is. I liked the alien more than the people. But that's not surprising about me... :)
DeleteOh, me too. No contest! I don't suspect that's a surprise either :)
DeleteNot at all, Wendy! :) Sometimes I wonder if I've subconsciously created another account blog profile and that profile is you! Hahaha... We're just so similar in our...um...cynicism towards humanity!
DeleteI must admit I got choked up as well when I first saw ET.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard not to with this film. Very touching scenes in it.
DeleteI'm a huge marshmallow when it comes to sad stories. Heck, I even tear up over Hallmark commercials!
ReplyDeleteI do the same, Linda! You softie, you :)
DeleteI cried at this movie too, Martha! It's been too long since I've seen it. I really enjoyed your photos of the Kingston area. So much green and water ~ just lovely. When my father was a teenager, he used to deliver milk in bottles from a cart pulled by a horse ~ That was in Charlottetown, PEI. I alway loved the cream at the top of the bottles. Have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun comment, as always! I hope you are having a beautiful weekend.
DeleteI have seen the movie, but I don't remember if I cried. I am easily moved to tears when I watch movies. Heck, I tear up during some commercials!
ReplyDeleteHahahaha! I so understand that, Tina. I have been known to tear up during commercials, too :)
DeleteIt's probably been a few years since I've seen this movie. Very emotional even still
ReplyDeleteA wonderful movie. I recently watched that good-bye scene and teared up all over again! Even though I know how it ends.
DeleteI've never seen this movie but maybe I should. I don't watch many movies as I can't sit still.
ReplyDeleteYou might enjoy this one. It's a fun film.
DeleteI loved this movie!
ReplyDeleteOne of the great ones!
DeleteI've only seen this movie a couple of times and I own it. Too much Kleenex involved.
ReplyDeleteHahaha! Yes, too much Kleenex is involved :)
DeleteOh, I cry. I can't help it.
ReplyDeleteE.T is absolutely adorable. How can you not cry?
DeleteHi Martha....
ReplyDeleteI saw this at the theatre when it first came....
As I recall.....I was sobbing! What a tear jerker.....for sure!
I am a sap for "Uncle Buck"......and "Trains and Planes and Automobiles".....
That John Candy tears at my heart strings!
Dull and drab here....enjoy your weekend!
Cheers!
Linda :o)
I love both those films that John Candy was in. He was such a great actor, and such a great guy all around. It's so sad that he died young. The weather is pretty much the same here. Been lazying around the house. Perfect weather for it. I hope your weekend has been great!
DeleteWhen movies are as well done as ET, yes, I need tissue.
ReplyDeleteIndeed, Robyn! Hope you had a lovely weekend.
