Bikes and Sights: The Cataraqui Trail At The End Of Summer

“It’s the first machine we master as children and the one we abandon when the seductions of the automobile take over.”
- Colman Mc Cartly -

The weather is getting better and the the snow is melting. Before you know it, it'll be time to spend more and more time outdoors...on our bikes! But until then, I can only enjoy it through last year's photos. So let's go for a virtual ride on the Cataraqui Trail. We cycled this route at the end of September, right when the leaves were beginning to change colours.

It was a wonderfully warm and sunny day.

And there were beautiful views of the water along the way.

I don't know the age of the bridge up ahead is but it sure looks old.

Doesn't this look like fun?

As always, we made friends along the way.

We parked our bikes by this section to rest and take in the gorgeous surroundings.

After we were done cycling, we put away our bikes and took a walk along water.

The world we live in is so spectacular, don't you think?

I am so grateful for this incredible thing called life. And for being able to share it with the people I love.

Thanks for coming along!

Have a lovely day, my friends.

  1. That is indeed a lovely place. Had to double check the date on when those were taken as the Fall colours are there but not at their peak. I haven't been to that area in years. Would make a lovely weekend getaway place to go.

    1. The fall colours are usually really noticeable in the first two weeks of October. But it all depends on the weather.

  2. Wow so pretty! I can't believe the leaves change so early there. We have to wait until mid to late October here.

    1. In the country areas, the colours arrive much earlier. In the city, it's a little bit later.

  6. So beautiful! The pictures of the water are magnificient!! I was on someone's blog this morning that lived in Nova Scotia; I guess that got 24 inches of snow the other day! Let's hope it avoids your part of the country!

    1. There is no snow in our forecast, especially that much snow, so I'm optimistic that we won't be getting that. I'd rather have flowers bloom!

    1. They are great. I love that they've actually turned them into recreational areas. It's kind of sad when everything is taken over by houses, buildings, businesses, etc. We need a little nature.
