Our destination is on the above airline departures listing. Not sure which one? Here’s another hint:
We enjoyed a week of sunny skies, hot and humid temperatures, white sand beaches, turquoise water and the best pina coladas (particularly in this country’s capital) and rum and cokes.
Still unsure? Here is the biggest hint of all: lots of fellow Canucks around! Because it is, after all, a very popular destination for Canadians. Exclusively. For now (hint, hint).
Go ahead, take a guess. For those that get it right, you’ll receive these prizes: white sand between your toes, salty ocean water up your nose, a moldy beach towel and an empty bottle of suntan lotion. (Yes, Richard, everyone wins. Not just the person that rings in first.)
I’ll share more tomorrow about our trip. Until then, here is some funny stuff to start the day off right.
Have a beautiful day, everyone!
The pictures themselves tell how perfecr your vacation was :)
ReplyDeleteSometimes I just want to be in Kindergarten too :)
If only we can get back to Kindergarten. At least for a little while!
Deleteha ha ha why are you picking on the little guy!
ReplyDeletepsychelyn doesn't count because she didn't guess... so that will make ME the first one... It's my hometown Quebec city unless you went to Mr Castro's home land... and since there is only one destination where you will have a gorgeous beach... it must be Val d'Or ;)))
Welcome back Martha, the blogging world is just not the same without you!
Wow, Richard wins even though he wasn't first. That doesn't seem fair.
DeleteActually, everyone wins no matter when they commented. As long as they got the destination right. Because I said so. My blog, my rules :)
DeleteYou came very close with the Val d'Or guess, Richard :) Yes, indeed, we were in Mr. Castro's home land. It was a much-needed and very appreciated getaway.
DeleteHahaaaaa, true. And everyone mine on mine, too. Even Richard, eho is so much fun to tease.
DeleteHe is fun to tease because he's a good sport and joins in on the fun!
DeleteYes, agreed. And that's what makes him so much fun.
DeleteOooohhhh did you go to St. John's? I've always wanted to go there. You both look so relaxed and happy. I'm so glad you enjoyed your vacation. Definitely well deserved!
ReplyDeleteIt had been years since we had a vacation, so you can imagine how exciting it was for us. We came back so relaxed.
DeleteCUBA! Love that pineapple and thanks for the laughs. Beautiful pic of you two!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely Cuba! That pineapple held the most amazing pina colada I've ever had in my life.
Delete@Richard: disqualification accepted :) I actually played safe coz I wasn't sure of my guess. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's not an easy guess unless you live in Canada!
DeleteYes, Canadians love Cuba!!! I've never been so I'm green, positively green, with envy! And you're right, it won't be long until those all-inclusives are full of Americans. Big big changes are coming to Cuba.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you had a wonderful time. Looking forward to hearing of your adventures!
Holy cow, Debra! You must visit Cuba before all the changes. It's still quiet and mainly full of Canadians. You'll get to meet some wonderful Canucks from coast to coast. Go while it's still our playground!
DeleteNice photo of you and your hubby! Looks like you had a fabulous time. Thanks for the funnies. :)
ReplyDeleteIt was really great to get away. It's been much too long.
DeleteCuba Cuba Cuba! Canadians' home away from home for the past 3 decades!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back Martha. A much deserved break!
Now I want a pizza for lunch!
You got it, Jim! Definitely a home away from home for us Canucks. For now. Soon it'll get busy and expensive and no longer be our playground.
DeleteVARADERO ~ WHOOP WHOOP WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP!!!
ReplyDeleteYes, indeed! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP!!!
DeleteNot sure where you guys went, but it looks relaxful and it seems like you guys had fun :)
ReplyDeletebetty
We did! I'm happy to be home but I will really miss that beach. There is no equivalent here.
DeleteI'm stumped as to where you went! You were in the tropics anyway.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely in the tropics. And in the country of Cuba; a favourite spot for Canadians.
DeleteI was laughing at a couple of your funnies. Never been to Cuba, glad you had a good time.
ReplyDeleteWe did. And we're now happy to be home. I'll miss the beach, though!
DeleteWow, Cuba! I had no idea Canadians go to Cuba for vacation! You are right that things are definitely going to change there!
ReplyDeleteI want to be in Kindergarten too. I would love to finger paint again!
Yup, Canadians have been going to Cuba for decades. It's been exclusively our playground. But not for much longer. We will have to share!
DeleteI am so glad you got away! I have never been to Cuba but have heard great things. Maybe one day
ReplyDeleteIt's very beautiful. And the people are so nice. It was nice to get away and relax for a bit.
DeleteI was sure you were going to St. John's ~ Just kidding! Cuba! I'm glad that you had a wonderful time, well-appreciated after a long, tough winter, I'm sure! My niece Sara just got back from there a few weeks ago. She spent a semester studying Spanish in Havana and lived with a wonderful host family while she did so. She is going back in November because she is doing a project on Cuba for her studies at Dalhousie University. It's great to see you back! Great chortles and chuckles!
ReplyDeleteWow, that is great about your niece! What a wonderful experience for her. I find Cuban people very warm and friendly. And the country's history is very interesting. Not to mention the amazing photos you can take!
DeleteI love this, of course I know the answer because I'm visiting backwards lol and you two look so wonderful, and beautiful..and sun-tanned lol I'm so happy for you sweet Girl x
ReplyDeleteIt was so relaxing. I'm glad we got away. So much going on lately and we needed some time to unwind.
DeleteIt's hard to go wrong with pizza! As far as marriage goes, it seems it would be hard to find the right person to lead a successful one--I'm glad you found your wonderful husband!
ReplyDeleteGood one about bad grammar -- "your" vs "you're"
The right person is the one that wakes up every morning wondering how they can make you happy. Never settle for anything less than that. You may have to filter through many bad apples before the right one emerges, and it may take time, but it's worth it
