Question Of The Day

What position do you typically sleep in?

My favourite position to catch some Zs is on my stomach with my arms hugging the pillow. I've been sleeping that way since I was a child and I don't see it changing any time soon.

How about you?

  1. Right now, I do best on my back, though I love all different ways, but this thing on my shoulder makes it so it's back only, with a wee bit of number one, thrown in. Not number one as in pee in the bed, just in case Richard thinks that's what I mean :-)

    1. Hahaha... You just KNOW Richard will jump all over that. Well here we go once again...the three stooges :)

  2. I sleep like the first picture, but hugging a pillow and my Lucy dog...hahaha

  3. I don't see my position... it's the one in my lazy bum chair, with the remote in my right hand. I'm like Ivy, I don't pee in my chair, but what a strange information to share! ha ha ha

    2. Snort laughs are the best. You two clowns usually make me laugh like that!

    1. You're a back sleeper like my husband. Except he sprawls out all over the bed.

  5. I sleep mainly on my left side. I used to be a tummy sleeper but now it is too uncomfortable (maybe if I lost some weight, LOL :)

    1. As long as you're comfortable, Betty, that's the best position!

    1. My husband is the same way. He can NEVER sleep on his stomach. He finds it so uncomfortable!

  7. On my back or on my side ... never on my stomach.

    All the best Jan.

  9. On my stomach used to be my favourite. But the past fifteen years have conspired against that. Right shoulder injury, two pregnancies, then left shoulder injury. I can't lie on my stomach for any length of time at all. Now that I wear a CPAP which sits on my left, I have to sleep on my left side or on my back otherwise I have the pipe tangled around my head.

The closest for me is the first one, except that I nearly always have a hand covering my mouth. No idea why. Am I hiding something or holding something in?

    1. That is a very interesting question, Natalie! I wonder what the answer is...

  11. Don't tell anyone but I sleep with a stuffed bunny. Something about having something against my chest helps with anxiety. It is like those heavy dog vests that help with dogs who have panic attacks during thunder storms.

    1. Okay...I won't breathe a word to anyone :) And I think it's really cute.

  12. No wonder I like you! I'm a stomach sleeper as well--basically a #5 with the left hand/arm tucked under the pillow, though I do close to a #1 sometimes too. I think I usually start with 1 and end up with 5. ;)

    1. Never mind the others, you and I know that sleeping on our stomach is the best! Once in awhile I do a #1 but #5 is my true love :)

  13. Mine's either 1, or a combo of 4 and 6.

  14. I'm a tummy sleeper but I always have one knee drawn up. In the winter I love heavy, heavy blankets but no matter how snuggled in I am or how cold the room is, I have to have one foot out from under the covers!

I can't sleep on my back because I wake myself with the first snore and start laughing. Then I fall back asleep, snort and wake up laughing. Not a great way to get rest but my husband love's it. (He's easily entertained!)
