A To Z Of Gratitude: E

E is for Empathy

When you can step into another person’s shoes and see with their eyes, listen with their ears and feel with their heart, you are practicing empathy; one of the most important skills we can develop.

I am very grateful for this trait that I consider to be a superpower. Every time we practice it, we make the world a better place.

Have a beautiful day, everyone.

  1. WE can all be grateful for Empathy, without it, we would be living in a colder world!

A great day to you too Martha

    1. I believe it was written first, but not considered good enough to be published at the time, and some people think it's actually like a first draft of Mockingbird rather than a different book. It's certainly generated a lot of interest!

    2. I haven't read it yet but plan to. I'm curious to see what it's all about.

  4. Yes, definitely the world needs a lot of empathy and sympathy. Something we should be more grateful for, especially for those that exhibit those traits in their lives.

    1. You know, Christine, I think empathy would play a huge role in a peaceful world if everyone felt and practiced it.

    2. I hope your day has been great so far, Wonder Woman. Been a pretty laid back one for us. It started off rainy and then the sun came out. Maybe we'll head out for a walk this evening and go have a coffee.

  10. You are the very meaning of empathy, few people understand what it means to be agoraphobic, they don't understand me, and make demands on me that are impossible for me to do. I know you understand without having to explain. You are the very meaning of Empathy, and Girl i bless you for that, have a lovely weekend and see you Monday, always xo

  11. Martha, how are you? I'm so happy to be back in the blogging world and to be able to catch up with everything I've missed out on. Like your amazing posts about your journey in life. Thank you so much for being so open about it. You are incredibly wonderful, all the things you went through and they couldn't destroy you, they rather made you an even more loving, generous, amazing woman. Your story touched me deeply and it makes me even happier now to see how very happy you are these days!
I really like that quote you posted here. Empathy is a superpower, it can change the world, it makes it a better place. Let's spread some more of it :)

    1. Beate, it is wonderful to see you here! I'm so happy about that. Know what else I'm happy about? You and Keith being together every day! That is great news. And I wish you both a lifetime of happiness and joyful memories. I soooo understand how you feel about each other. I share that magical connection with my husband. Deep love is very real when two people that fit well together come together. It's that simple.

Yes, my experiences could not destroy me. I refused to let them! I was - and always will be - determined to be happy. Life is too short for anything else.

Thank you for your kind words. And I wish you and your hubby a wonderful weekend!
