I love to dance and there are many songs that will get me going. But when this one comes on...
...I just can't control myself. Footloose by Kenny Loggins is my weakness. Even now I'm tapping my feet as I listen to it while preparing this blog post.
Do you like to dance? And is there a song that makes you want to jump up and shake your booty?
Have a lovely weekend, everyone!
I boogie allll the time in the kitchen and the house. (I wrote the comment but it deleted). Anyway, any song will do, because I love to dance and clean and bake and all that fun stuff.
ReplyDeleteYou bet, Wonder Woman! As long as the beat is right, any song will do.
DeleteDo you know, I've never seen Footloose yet?
DeleteYou should watch it sometime. It's not bad. I've seen it more than once.
DeleteEven before I saw your answer to the question, I thought of Footloose. Really, of all the millions of songs out there, great, dancin, cool women think alike! Everybody cut, everybody cut, everybody cut footloose! Smiles.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend.
Great minds and all that, Robyn! You got it :)
DeleteI can't think of one, I think I'm too Irish to enjoy dancing
ReplyDeleteIs Riverdance too Irish too? LOL

DeleteI would love to dance like this:
DeleteConnemara Irish dance group
I love to dance to popular music.
ReplyDeleteThat's pretty cool! I enjoy that.
DeleteI just love to dance and sing along to the music too ... although family members have never appreciated my voice!!! They tell me my dancing is far better LOL.
ReplyDeleteLike your choice ... mine is any music for instance we have a great Mark Knopfler CD playing at the moment and I'm dancing (and singing) to a track called Secondary Waltz. You can move to any music can't you?
Have a great weekend
All the best Jan
Of course you can move to any music! If it works for you, it's the perfect choice!
DeleteI have medical conditions that prevent me from dancing; My foot are too long, my toes are crook, my left and my right feet just doesn't follow beats, and all I want is "Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive, stayin' alive.
ReplyDeleteAh, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive."
Hahaha...oh you...
DeleteI wish I could dance, LOL. I think I have 2 left feet and no rhythm :) But if I could dance, I think I would like to dance to Footloose too :)
ReplyDeletebetty
It's a really fun song to dance to!
DeleteHi Martha,
ReplyDeleteYikes and now I've got "Footloose" whirling around in my head! :) I love to dance and I predict that "Do the Bartman" is about to be re-released on the charts. I shall be dancing to that song. Then again, I dance like the drunken dad at the wedding!
Have a nice weekend, Martha.
Gary :)
Do the Bartman! I can imagine you doing this, Gary. LOL... That would be fun. Happy weekend, my friend :)
DeleteWell, I don't dance , but rock a billy really has a beat.
ReplyDeleteDancing isn't for everyone. When my husband and I are out where there's dancing I'm the one that will jump out of my seat. He stays put!
DeleteI have learned various ballroom (like waltz, cha cha, jive), also tap dancing. I used to do musicals and dance in the chorus. I have played "Tessie Tura the Texas Twirler", an aging burlesque star, where I had to twirl my tassels on stage in the musical "Gypsy". I have probably every dance game make for Xbox. Yes I like to dance!
ReplyDeleteWow, that is very impressive! I'd be happy to know just a couple of those dances. Yup, you certainly enjoy dancing!
DeleteMy sister likes to play old records when we work in the kitchen. There are a few songs that make me want to dance, but I can't remember the titles at the moment. Also, quite a few people have cell phone ringtones that invite dancing...eh, it might be a bit odd to dance to someone else's ringtone, but it's their fault since they're the ones who chose ringtones like that...right?
ReplyDeleteYou bet, Bethany! And no matter where the music comes from, if the beat gets you moving, I say 'dance away'!
DeleteOkay, don't laugh! I love to dance to the B52's "Rock Lobster!" In fact my siblings, their children, and others love to do a big group "Rock Lobster" dance together!
ReplyDeleteLaugh? I think that's great! So much fun. I'd even join you. The B-52s were quite popular when I was in high school and I used to dance to their songs at school dances and at the clubs we 'snuck' into :)
DeleteGotta love Footloose. Mmm...Uptown Funk, way too many to think of.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely way too many! A lot of great dance music out there.
Deleteindeed but remember Beach Baby, I could never resist I start dancing .....
ReplyDeleteAnother good one, Lorraine! Once we start with choices of great dance music, it's endless...
DeleteSince I was raised with forties Big Band...In The Mood always put me in the mood for dancing and cheers me. I would always danced with the best veteran I know, Dad.
ReplyDeleteAw...sweet. Dads are the best.
