A To Z Of Gratitude: J

J is for Jeans

Sounds like a silly thing to be grateful for, right? But not for me. ‘Cause I’m a denim-loving girl. The majority of the time I wear jeans. Jeans have been my main choice for pants since my early teens and I don’t see that changing any time soon. In addition, you’d be hard pressed to find me in a dress or skirt. I grew up as a tomboy and there’s never been much of a girly girl in me.

That being said, it’s getting harder and harder to find a pair of jeans that I like as I get older. With my body changing and all. The jeans are too high. Too low. Too tight. Too loose. Too dull. Too weird. Nothing looks right. Nothing fits right. So when I do run across something appealing, I think to myself “If I fits, I gits”. And I usually pick up more than one pair. Because there’s no telling when I’ll stumble across another great-fitting pair of jeans!

Do you like wearing jeans?

  6. I have such short legs and a big, little belly, if I can find jeans that fit, and they cost under $40, I grab 'em. If they catch me on the way out, I pay. J/K.

  7. I love jeans, and yes, I'm with you - no dresses or skirts for this girl either! And I too have a difficult time finding a pair of jeans that fit me well. Guess I'm getting old or something! :)

  8. I do love jeans but finding a good pair is always a battle and with my weight variations, boy, let's just say I hold on to my good ones and keep them stashed until they happen to fit again! Up and down all around :) Good to be grateful for the little things!

  11. I wear jeans as my standard casual attire, yes. But I'm afraid that with advancing years, I've been reduced to old-lady stretchy waist jeans. Oh well. It happens to the best of us.

    1. I get that, Debra. All my jeans are stretchy now. Easier to put on and much more comfortable!

  12. I actually don't like jeans, but I love casual dress, my favourite style. I prefer workout style pants.

  13. I wear jeans 99% of the time. My all-time favourite ones were back in the late 60's......Lee Boot Cut jeans. The best!
Now I wear just about anything that will fit, as Debra puts it, my 'advancing' aged body!!
I think jeans have defined a whole generation and more!!

    1. You are so right, Jim! When I was a teen they were extremely popular. I suppose they still are; the style has changed, no doubt about that.

  15. When I go out it's jeans, all the way even with the holes..have a great weekend girl, low-waist is the best thing that ever happened to me see I have an Hour glass shape to big on top, small waist big hips so the low waist just fit perfect unfortunately my size 9, 10 don't fit anymore so I'm a 12 now awwwwwwwwwww

    1. You're lucky, girl. I can't wear the low waist jeans. I'm so uncomfortable in them. It's too bad because they are all over the place; they are quite popular. Which means that it's hard to find jeans that I like!

  16. Smart to find what you like and stick with it! I do that to the point that I'm almost a very boring dresser... but it is good to be predictable, right?

    1. I agree, Bethany! I'm not the most adventurous dresser. When I find something I like and it fits well, I stick to it!

  17. I love jeans. Sometimes I get desperate looking for the perfect pair, so like you, if I find one, I usually get more than a pair.
